"The Project, Program and Portfolio Tool we have been waiting for."

What do you like best?

Wrike's ability to organize and display at the enterprise level is unmatched by other PM tools. Many do project management well, but Wrike delivers on Program and Portfolio management too. The ability to create custom hierarchies by layering and mixing folders, projects and tasks is unique to Wrike. The ability to create a holistic view of my programs has alluded me for 20 years. Before Wrike, I frequently had to create disconnected reports or slides to report program status. This approach was time consuming and the data was outdated as soon as I finished. With Wrike, I can create reports and views of my entire portfolio of work and individually select the projects and folders I wish to include. I can then filter, sort or group my reports using Wrike's flexible report builder. My customers no longer have to wait for the weekly status report to get the latest information. With Wrike, I publish reports that are accessible from the web and always have the latest data. Users can even choose to subscribe to reports so that they automatically receive the report in their email at the frequency of their choosing.

Where most tools force you to decide between agile and waterfall, Wrike works in both conventional and agile environments. I can create a master schedule that follows more traditional, water fall methods and then use the same tool to manage my agile development teams at a lower level in the plan. Each project or program can follow their own custom workflow for tracking progress.

Wrike's functionality continues to grow and improve. If you have not looked at Wrike recently, I suggest you give them another try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Using a tool with this broad set of functionality can be a little challenging. Wrike's UI could lessen the learning curve by being a little more consistent on the methods and functions available in different views of the UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Develop a plan, engage the Wrike Experts on the best way to use Wrike as part of your Product/ Project/Program Management success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wrike: The "swiss army knife" for team collab and project management"

What do you like best?

It's very easy to set up and use. Among its strengths I would highlight:

- Can be used as a single point of communication in projects;

- Ability to check which resources are available to join a project and manage them;

- Ability to create team and personal (for individual projects) work spaces;

- Customizable reporting in real time;

- Ability to view project dependencies;

- Tagging team members easily allowing to send the proper notifications relevant to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not a "deal breaker", however like in any software product there's always room for improvement, from my personal experience it has the following weaknesses:

- File storage and management can be challenging when using large files;

-Email integration for sending out team notifications needs improvement;

-Lacks a high level roadmap like tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're looking for an easy to set up and use project management/collaboration tool with all the features you can expect from this kind of tool (file management, team/personal work spaces, team notifications, resource management, project dependencies, real time reporting, external app integration and much more), then look no more as this is the right choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Creating team and personal work spaces, allowing to separate team from individual affairs. Managing project dependencies easily. Using the tool as a single point of communication and iteration for the team when implementing projects. Having a central repository of documentation for each project instead of having files spread over a multitude of different sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use, Easy to Organize"

What do you like best?

Wrike makes project tracking easy and efficient! We can collaborate on our projects and update each other on where we stand. We can assign tasks to each other and hold each other accountable. The various views (calendar, to-do list, etc.) make it easy to see what I have on my plate. We can prioritize projects and reorganize them as needed. Not only is Wrike user friendly, but it's format and templates makes our jobs more efficient. We can also preview who is working on what task, eliminating the need to send emails, texts, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I can't use it offline like I would hope, but it's easy to leave pulled up and look at when I don't have Internet. Otherwise, Wrike is so easy to use and I wouldn't change a thing! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Watch tutorials and learn the product. It is very helpful if you know how to use it. Try to use it as a collaboration tool and make sure you check out their reports and templates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are collaborating so well these days! We are better tracking on projects and less falls through the cracks (and that that does is not Wrike's fault). We are holding other accountable without having to call them out. We are overall more productive and efficient! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A Project Manager's dream software!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Wrike is being used within the Marketing department of our organization. It is used to organize a continuous cycle of annual projects within the department.

Pros and Cons

  • Keeps project communication in one place.
  • Multiple ways to organize projects, assets and team members.
  • Once you understand the structure, Wrike is very easy to use.
  • Wrike is a Project Managers dream software!
Edit
  • While the "Forms" aspect of Wrike is amazing, there are some areas that could be improved. Not much else to say - Wrike is constantly updating and adding features. They also listen to community feedback.

Likelihood to Recommend

The best part is Wrike is very simple to use. Once you have an understanding of the structure (Spaces, Projects, Tasks), it is really an amazing software. It does take time and effort in training and team adoption, but once everyone has bought into it, it will make your lives so much easier.

"Wrike - Best Business Tool EVER!"

What do you like best?

I have to maintain and create multiple video and online training projects. It was always a project management nightmare - including scheduling the various content pieces and their various editors and talent coordination. I have set up Wrike Dashboards for all my work partners, I can at-a-glance follow their progress, modify and/or add new tasks in a snap!

The MUST HAVE piece for us was non-internal user file approvals via Wrike. I can send an unlimited amount of 'file for your approval' notices to our outside clients, and none of them need a Wrike license! This is a hard-to-find feature from other PM vendors. When we were shopping for a PM solution, when I asked other vendors about this feature, they'd say things like, "We don't have that, but you can make a PDF and email them that for approval, etc." NO THANK YOU... I love having the approval of the file built right into my workflow, and I get email alerts when my clients respond with approvals or feedback. This also works smartly with our internal team approvals as well.

Another KEY FEATURE is the ability to make forms... I have replaced my old HELP TICKET software with a new Wrike form that I can publish on the internet. Now my Help Tickets auto-trigger a task for me to investigate and solve. They get email alerts and so do I when the forms are triggered. I've also created work intake forms for my internal team too! No more emails with fuzzy goals like, "Would you make this?" Now I get alerted when work requests come in and the customizable forms let me tailor exactly what I need. Wrikes update reminder emails also helps me make sure tasks get done as specified and on time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

This is one of the most powerful and integrated software packages I've used in over 30 years of IT management... changes are saved on the fly - there is nothing I don't like about this product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have to build custom online courses with dozens of varying and complex components and sub-steps. Wrike lets me lay out all the steps once, turn it into a blueprint for future projects, and saves huge amount of time tracking where I'm at in the design - production - assembly - approval phases.

I have one process that takes bout three hours on the clock to complete. Dozens of steps, some very complicated and often done by new hires. I can add screen shots and links to all the components I need for myself, or someone else to complete the steps. I then duplicate these steps out for each new series which ensures me that nothing gets missed in the long chain of events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for marketing project mgmt and studio workflows"

What do you like best?

Intuitive design, easy to use (even if you're not in the tool every day), inbox helps keep track of any projects you've been tagged in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Still trying to figure out how to best leverage (if at all) for executive reviews. We're still relying on spreadsheets when serving up reviews for our CMO. Also still trying to figure out how to nudge folks working on a project for updates w/o having a traffic coordinator go in and manually tag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Project mgmt of high-profile marketing projects (i.e. annual event, rebrand) & brand workflow (trafficking) for new content created by our in-house design and content studio. Since implementing Wrike we've seen less duplicative asks, better project timelines, and better visibility into where projects are in the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Wrike Gantt chart doesn't show successor list (similar to how MS Project have the view option) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I manage research innovation projects and with Wrike tool, my work has increased significantly. All the project team is aware of the progress and there's a information transparency and single source of truth, which increases the project efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Project Management Game-Changer"

What do you like best?

Wrike has helped us streamline our internal team communication. The onboarding process made it very easy to implement and integrate to the team. Identifying gaps in our resources as well as team calendars has been a huge improvement in our team's overall visibility to the project load. The one on one consultation and service has been exceptional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some of the UI and features can benefit from continued usability improvement, but the Wrike team is very good about receiving feedback and consistently working to improve their user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You'll get all the custom features of the big-ticket project management tools, for an accessible price, plus the customer service that is second to none. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to remove 90% of project related email back-and-forth for more efficient, centralized communications. We are also now able to see a big picture of all the work happening within our team, as well as resource management solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
