Pros: Basecamp is great resource for document sharing. It is very easy to use. Plus, I like the privacy features of this software too.
Cons: It takes a little time to set up and invite people to join your group.
Pros: It's a useful communication/planning tool
Cons: Difficult to navigate at times. It's not logical in the way its set up.
Overall: It works (better than nothing). Most people are relying on Google drive instead of using this app.
Pros: I love that this software is cloud based and allows you to share project schedules with reminders and share documents seamlessly with not just your team, but your clients as well. Overall an amazing product.
Cons: I don't like that you have to download a document every time you want to view it. It would be great if basecamp can offer a view it now type of function. I keep having to delete versions as I view them because sometimes I would have to download the file to just view the contents
Overall: I love it. It's been working perfectly for me and my team so far.
Pros: Using Basecamp has bring our organization a better way of communication. It makes it easier for our team to be informed and involved in the right topics and docs. Very useful since we are part remote and asynchronous team. Respects each other time and availability. Ideal to document, discuss and spread information.
Cons: Text formatting options for docs. I would like to have more options since here could be any kind of data/information.
Pros: It is very good for reporting and budgeting.
Cons: The website of Basecamp is confusing and to get a free trial is very difficult.
Overall: There is no chat or conversations and i prefer toher programmes.
Pros: Compared to emailing support requests to a customer support team, Basecamp was so much more efficient. Easily allowed me to keep track of the status of requests in one place, rather than hunting in my bottomless inbox/sent mail folders.
Cons: Really didn't have anything I didn't like. Easy to use and does what I need it to do.
Overall: During the implementation of a business process automation solution, there were numerous emails flying back and forth between me and the implementers. Became really hard to keep track of everything. Basecamp simplified and organized these communications, making life a LOT easier.
Pros: This allowed seamless communication for our after hours team to communicate with in-office team.
Cons: Sometimes the threads would get a little disorganized and a little harder to follow. Just took paying a little better attention.
Overall: The immediate communication across different groups was super helpful in making sure all pertinent info was passed along to appropriate team members.
Pros: Lots of customization options which makes basecamp very flexible for different organizations with different needs
Cons: With basecamp having so many features and configurations, it helps to have someone with experience or dedicated time to learn and set-up basecamp properly
Pros: I like that it's a one stop spot to engage multiple people. It's easy to have multiple projects going while still staying very organized
Cons: Sometimes it's hard to see the updates post form another member in the group
Pros: Conceptually - I love it. I've used it at past organizations fairly successful. Great for IT project management.
Cons: I have had my account since I started at my job and have confirmed with IT and Basecamp support that I have administrator permissions, yet I always - ALWAYS - have to get my account reconfirmed and my permissions reconfigured any time I access a ticket. It's extremely frustrating because I use the software daily. This has never been fixed and I have basically resigned myself to it at this point. I wish we used something besides Basecamp - I really hate using it.
