The first and foremost thing I like in Tableau is Ease of Use.
Secondly, Tableau is known for its Visualizations. It provides great visualizations and no other BI tool can compete with Tableau in Visualizations.
Tableau is also known for better performance and has multiple data source connections
Tableau also provides a one-year free trial for students and it also provides videos and whitepapers etc,
Students can easily access those videos and website and can learn Tableau
We can find everything in Tableau official site.
Tableau provides Live connections to different data sources
I don't have many reasons to dislike Tableau. In fact, I would suggest Tableau compared to other BI tools but one thing I feel that the cost is a little high compared to other BI tools
I would recommend Tableau compared with other BI Tools. Because of the Ease of use, High Performance
Great visualizations and what else required
Easily can connect with different and multiple data sources.
Provides great Visualizations.
Tableau can handle millions of rows of data with ease
With the help of the Tableau Community, we can interact with skilled experts or Tableau developers and one can ask for help and clarify doubts.
Different types of visualizations can be created with a large amount of data without affecting the performance.
Tableau provides different tools or platforms like Tableau (Desktop, Server, Online, Public, Reader, Prep, and Public etc) for a different type of users
The ability to work with both live data through a connector or using a data extraction is a huge plus for us since some of our data used legacy data connections like ODBC that have no online access. The software is also extremely easy to setup and use whether you're using just the Desktop version or also incorporating the Server client! They are just got bought out by Salesforce so have confidence choosing Tableau
The pricing structure can be confusing as well as the dashboard setup if you're wanting to host your dashboards locally yourself or through a VPS.
Our traditional method of reporting was mainly through Excel, but now with the added visualizations and ability to host live dashboards in the cloud that update automatically we now have even greater visibility into business metrics that we were desperate for!
What I like the most is to be able to relate different databases in order to obtain important information for the work, it is easy to perform in different Dashboards, which can be viewed from any mobile device and computers with a single link and in real time.
It does not work without an internet connection and sometimes it gives me an error and it does not allow me to save the changes made, perhaps for some people it is usually a bit complicated and cumbersome.
I recommend it to all companies that have a large amount of data and need to have their information organized and in real time, it is a Business Intelligence platform that helps all companies achieve their objectives and optimal results.
It can help you to join several databases, the presentations with Dashboards are wonderful and easy to understand, when making presentations with global filters the data sample is very simple, provides each user with a profile in which you can save all your publications and edit them whenever you need or require, there are a large number of tutorials and a large community which can help you solve a problem if it is presented and its cost is not very high.
I like the best Interactive Dashboarding, Almost no coding required for creating visualizations. The Dashboards are ready to be used on mobiles which reduces the development efforts. It is easy to be used by the end users with simple drag drop functionality to create reports and visualizations.
Simple thing like cross join is difficult to implement. For that we need to write our own query. Connection mapping i.e. connecting to different data sources at run time is difficult to implement.
Definitely I would like to recommend Tableau to other users. It is a very good tool.
We are creating report and dashboards with Tableau Desktop for internal reporting as well as for our clients. Clients are very satisfies with the tool.It saves a lot of time creating reports. Users can do self BI with tableau, which saves a lot of business time.
Creating report by connecting it to several applications like database and excel.. Professional reporting can be created by connecting it to database and also able to create logics.
Lack of time... It will take so much of time to access it mostly when it is connected to database.
Reports can be created in the most effective manner including logics creation. User friendly to create different formats like graph, numbers, list etc..
One of the things that amazed me about tableau was the ability to create a wide variety of visualizations on a single platform that uniquely and creatively depict what the data depicts.
One of the things I disliked of tableau were the limited types of visualizations available, however this could have also greatly depended on the data inputted.
Helping businesses resolve problems via. Their data
The fact that you can drag and drop items to analyze the most complex of data and create the most beautiful charts is simply amazing.
Sometimes when the data is HUGE, the software goes into Not Responding mode on Windows.
Creating charts to analyze data
Finding patterns in the charts
The best feature about tableau desktop for me is the show me option that it provides once you drag your measures into the view. It's analytics tab is also very good for forecasting etc.
Sometimes if the dataset is too large it takes some time to process the data..also when we add many filters the performance degrades
I have used tableau to generate numerous visualizations for my projects. It has helped me in data cleaning and analysing various trends in the data.
I like the diverse data integration sources including cloud-based tools.
Integrating data is deceptively difficult and requires more than a few simple button pushes.
I am displaying the business impact of the technology my team is developing.
I quite like Tableau, as it has many options how I can analyse data and then how I can visualize it. Works with many data sources and has many reporting options.
It does not handle too large dataset very well, and sometimes the processing power is not the best.
Great tool if you want amazing visualization options. It does the analytic job well, but there are other tools out there that can do the same with other better features.
Tableau was used to analyse customer behavior and consuming trends. This worked pretty well, plus the visualizations provided great insight.
