The best feature is its easy integration with clearbit. It appends data very nicely and is good for getting extra info about leads. Unfortunately, this feature is only available on the highest tiers.
As far as chatbot software goes, it's not terribly intuitive for sales teams to use, and the bot features do NOT integrate seamlessly with human conversations. Moreso, the team proved to not be forthright about the terms and testing period of their software. I made very clear to them that our company was interested in testing a solution, but they required that I adhere to their TOS when canceling the service, which required 30 days notice before the beginning of the subsequent monthly billing cycle. Not only was the TOS unclear, in my opinion, about when that would be triggered, but their team was also not willing to be flexible or communicative about that process. They were given more than 20 days notice.
Additionally, one of their key features for us was a tool to request a business email if a personal email address was submitted. However, this feature was not functional for a majority of the period we were testing the product as the system continued to store the first email given.
Unless your sales team is ready to have this level of customer interaction, it will likely be a large waste of their time.
The business problem we wanted to solve was making an easier point of entry for our customers beyond a form fill out. Ultimately, the drift bot provides no benefit that any other chat tool can, and the bot features are not sufficient for a business of our size without significant work.
Pros: Drift became an absolutely essential piece of our web development proposal, as every client we integrated with Drift saw a massive increase in converting customers. To put the icing on the cake, it's highly affordable and extremely simple to integrate with a website. Barely any code, very clean and intuitive for customers to use. We love Drift!
Cons: No cons on Drift, it's truly a fantastic live chat software.
From a sales perspective, Drift makes it easy to be able to communicate with potential clients on our website. They alerts are instant, and can be accessed on my phone or browser. The lead routing is seamless as well, great tool.
There is a feature that shows live visitors on each page of the website. This is more of an ask than a 'dislike' but it would be nice if they were able to pull any information on the people that are on the website, i.e. if their work email is entered, they are able to tell me employee count of the company, position in the company, etc.
From both a sales and support point of view, we are able to chat with potential and current clients. Our team does not need to worry about lead routing anymore.
I can see when my prospects hit the site in real-time and I can see what page they're on.
Engagement is extremely low. No one really engages.
It's a start, and a nice addition to your tech stack.
The benefit is that if they do engage, I can understand what brought them to the site and what questions they have. No real business problem.
Drift is the ultimate software for engaging with prospects on your site. Using Drift's great U/X you can create very targeted and personalized flows very easily.
The on-site widget takes long time to load and is super heavy.

Improving conversion on-site, shortening the sales cycle. Using Drift I was able to increase our on-site conversion significantly, while giving a personalized experience on-site.
Pros: Pretty quick and easy to implement. The tool is flexible with a suite of developer tools. Connects weel to the workflow of sales people (Slack, email, gmail, google cal).
Cons: Integrations with marketing automation could be more extensive and tighter. At this point much of it is very new. Reporting is way too simplified. They need to better tie where the person was to when they engaged with chat.
Overall: Very solid tool. Chat has been around for years, but Drift is making it cool again by reinvigorating it and blending it in to the modern martech stack.

They have a ton of interesting features, but not all are world class yet. Make sure that the one your business depends on is a core part of their future as they are growing quickly and will likely consolidate their focus
Which prospects should we spend the most time with? How can we increase sales by providing live/AI based sales assistance. As stated above, we have seen greater accuracy in evaluating prospects but did not see any sales conversion gains
Its perfect for the small business. We like how we can hand off conversations, set ourselves as not available and having a moble app helps
There seems to be a delay with the mobile application. I also wish I could see when the visitor is typing on the website from the mobile app.

It’s free teir features are great for getting started. Really allow you to grow with it.
The google chrome extension doesn’t always notify me when a user is on a site. The slack extension works well but can be a problem if worried about the total number of apps you have open.
We use drift for lead generation and talking to our leads. We haven’t quite realized the benefits monetarily as a startup just getting started but we love how it makes the site feel. We love the power it gives us for a low cost and the overall caring that the Drift team seems to have.
