Dynamics has a great email marketing campaign that allows tracking via Outlook desktop as well. The detailed metrics that can be customized for each user group and type allow perfect control of the named users to avoid duplication and miscommunications, which always cause Customer Service disconnects.
Entry fields do not consistently autosave the information entered, which causes frustration for users and some redundancy. The number of variables available and the customizable fields make it easy to create categories that are very specific to the targeted markets. Intuitive save features would be a huge plus.
Know the licensing requirements from your vendor/reseller before committing to any time or resources. We were unable to transition to full usage because the package we were promised was not actually available to be sold as we were originally told.
Our organization is growing at a rapid pace. While we have traditionally relied upon the road warriors to bring in contracts and prospect new business, it is no longer a cost effective method of reaching out to customers. With Dynamics 365, we can customize our marketing efforts to utilize technology and tweak messaging with the personal touches our customers expect.
The Dynamics platform is evolving rapidly which means many new features and enhancements! I've been using Dynamics since version 2011 and the new versions are more intutive and easier to use. Microsoft is building more AI into the system to help salespeople find and follow up with leads in the system. The integrated mail assistant even scans emails for tones and will alert you when a person seems upset. The native integration with all other dynamics platforms and Microsoft products is a huge plus.
The major downside is the marketing capabilities when compared to a hubspot like system. Dynamics has a separate marketing module that shows great promise but is not bundled natively with dynamics for sales. If an organization has over 10 sales licenses I believe they get the marketing module for free which is awesome of you are not a small business. Otherwise you have to rely on zapier and/or Flows to get forms and data into the CRM.
Great product with unlimited potential but will need someone knowledgeable to implement and customize.
The beauty of dynamics is the open articture and the fact that it is built on sequal servers means that almost everything can be customized and configured to solve any business problem. Other softwares limit the amount you can customize the system and Microsoft has built the framework and turned it over to the end consumer to let their imagination run wild. Almost anything is possible with dynamics if you have someone with a technical background.

The charts, and filters to obtain the exact data analysis we are looking for in management are helpful. The integration with Office 360 and Sharepoint is a great benefit. Everything is in one place, and is automated unlike other systems.
It is a bit difficult to learn at first due to it being the mash up of many programs like Word, Excel, and Outlook. Also, a single contact record cannot be associated with more than one company which can make things tedious. Licenses are limited to full access or read only, something in between would be useful too.
With power apps, we have created multiple apps for my business users with zero programming skills. Power BI platform allows you to create comprehensive reports using OOB templates available for Sales, Service Management, etc.

Being a previous user of Dynamics AX my best feature of Dynamics 365 is the fact that you don't have to be on premise to access the software. I can do this from anywhere as long as i have access to the internet.
