Stay Away from Chargebee ...The customer service at this company is horrible. First the invoice system does not automatically charge the cost of the invoice, then you contact their support (they only offer online chatting) and they just copy and paste the answer. I have been with them since they are integrated with our software but I am going to switch because they are making me loose money and the support is not there.
Wow, the support is really hard work. It is going to be a major headache for us to move to another billing provider but in the long run it would be better. I recommend using recurly as the support is U.S based and a whole different level compared to Chargebee. I was waiting for the Chargebee/Shopify integration and at last, they released a plugin and I went to work to follow the instructions only to find all is not what it seems. Unlike other payment gateways / retail finance or recurring plugins, Chargebee basically just updates the orders in Shopify nothing less or nothing more. You can not actually have your customer's checkout on your Shopify site with Chargebee Hosted Pages or some type of button on the product page to subscribe. I spoke to the support agent Samuel (which was hard work we went around in circles for a long time) in the end Samuel concluded the advice for Shopify Integration with Chargebee is to simply build a new website and not use the Shopify website for the front-end, use the Chargebee Drop-In Script so users order on a custom bespoke website outside of Shopify and it goes to Chargebee which then, in turn, updates Shopify,,, then what would be the point in having Shopify at all? This is the most pointless plugin I have come across it has no purpose whatsoever.
Chargebee is dead in terms of service - we have been trying to having an invoicing issue resolved for three months - I suspect they no longer provide any customer support and simply outsource helpdesk to create a facade. As at October 2019 I dont think anyone actually works there anymore.
I switched over them after my previous billing provider shut down. I read positive reviews regarding their service and was somewhat familiar with them beforehand. I had several calls with their technical and sales teams before settling down and switching over to them. This was a huge mistake and one that now threatens the very existence of my 10+ year old business.I use line items on invoices for transparency. Their product cannot handle more than around 20 - 30 lines before their entire system begins to bog down. Add a few hundred and it almost stops working completely. Add a few thousand to one invoice and suddenly your whole account stops working completely. Meanwhile you are given the runaround for months explaining all the things you are doing wrong (none of this is actually correct) and how it puts too much strain on the system. Here's the problem though I can open a spreadsheet and add 65000+ rows and even Excel '97 can handle that just fine on 25 year old Pentium. Chargebee would likely suffer a days long outage if someone could do that because they can't make a system that scales. I have so far lost close to $10000 because of their billing solution that no longer properly invoices half of my customers. Now customer service just copies and pastes the same answer every time I contact them.

At first, chargebee did not integrate with many things and people were not familiar with them. but that has been changing a lot.
They're great and if you have any issues they're always going to work with you to figure it out.
I like all the data i can get from chargebee. I also like that they're continuing to add more ways of gathering data. Keep working on this because it's great. I don't have to use excel as much as I use to and that's great.
