Podium is a platform that encompasses customer text messaging, reviews, and insights. With Podium, you have one inbox that can manage all communications and interactions related to your business. Using Podium’s messaging capabilities, you can let them text your business, as well as reply to them via text. You can also receive messages via other channels, such as Google, Webchat, and Facebook. All the messages you receive from the different channels are stored in one place. When you receive a message, you can assign it to an employee to take care of, and they can respond directly from within the central inbox. You can access this messaging inbox on any device from anywhere. You can also use Podium’s messaging capabilities to collect reviews. To do this, all you have to do is to text an invitation to write a review to your customers. You can even automate the process of sending these review invitations out.

Excellent product and platform

Pros: Ease of use

Multiple users

Combines communication streams and reviews from Google, FB, and our website into one place.

Cons: Price is a bit steep for SMB, but well worth it if you maximize the value of your positive reviews.

Overall: Implementation was a breeze (thank you, Rep Team!). The platform is simple to use but powerful and full of value-adds.

Loving Podium for the reviews!

Pros: How it has helped us drive tons of positive reviews to our online profiles while also capturing negative feedback so we can act on it quickly and make things right. It integrates with Service Titan which is also wonderful.

Cons: Reporting is spread across their site in a confusing manner until you get used to it.

Overall: We love Podium and find a ton of value in using it to drive positive reviews.

Limited Analytics

Pros: It has great preset templates for you to go off of that are both aesthetic and simple. They have a high response rate on the text messages they send and ultimately do show results in higher reviews on social media.

Cons: The analytics side is very primitive. The sentiment analysis that they herald is nowhere near as definitive as they sold me on. I'm not sure their NLP algorithm is that good because as I went through many of our reviews, I did not see it aligned with the sentiment analysis they gave us.

What do you like best?

I like how I can manage 26 individual franchises and review from their Google and Facebook pages all in one place. I didn't expect to ever have a tool for this and Podium steps up to serve my needs nicely! I love how we can arrange to send our clients a prompting to fill out a review of our businesses. Also, getting email notifications for each review that comes in, along with summary reports are great features... very helpful.

What do you dislike?

I can't always get connectivity for 1 account, and it's not clear why. It might be an issue on my end, but the support is decent enough. I'm not using the full suite of services with text messaging, so I do understand that I'm not the 1st priority. But our conversations have been good and I'm interested in upgrading to the text messaging features. Also, I can't always reply directly to reviews from Podium, but it's easy enough to click on the review to go straight to google and leave the review there!

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would strongly consider their full suite of products including text messaging for client reviews... but definitely give them a serious look because the platform seems to be growing and getting even more user friendly.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can quickly see all the customer reviews in one place... we'd be lost without that... and that makes managing our Online Reputation so much easier.

Podium was the first, but you pay for the name!

Pros: Podium changed the way I manage my reputation online before I was really even thinking about it

Cons: It is expensive. Newer, comparable competitors have entered the space for lower price points
