(Reviewed on 27 October 2020) "Great tool and team with lots of potential!"

What do you like best?

The best part of Outplay is the team behind the tool. They are not only committed to making the tool better over time with their new releases, but--more importantly--they care about making sure that my team is successful and seeing the outcomes that we want to see. We were previously with a big name competitor but were not seeing a lot of success with their tool. The team at Outplay has changed that for us and we are seeing the ROI in a big way. Another great part about this is that the sync with Salesforce is incredibly easy and that has made my team even more efficient.

What do you dislike?

The interface and reporting are improving but not perfect yet. Once someone on my team learns the system, it works but the interface and look of the system need a little work. That said, it's still really easy to get around and very efficient but may not look as sleek as some other tools out there. The reporting capabilities are easy but aren't quite as rigorous as I'd like them to be for diving really deep into the data. That said, the way it comes over into Salesforce does make it pretty easy to work with there.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't be fooled by the big names in this space that want to charge you a lot more for the same capabilities Outplay has. The team at Outplay is incredible and passionate about what they do. They've helped us get results and it's been painless for me and my team.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are working to solve the problem of how to efficiently and consistently reach out to a large number of prospective clients and get them meet with us. The tool allows us to approach this in a really systematic way that is great because my team doesn't let things fall through the crack any more. We are seeing more meetings with prospective clients then we've ever seen before and my team of outside sales people are actually making the phone calls and sending the emails that they should be sending.

(Reviewed on 08 September 2020) "High Powered low cost alternative to Sales Loft"

What do you like best?

The number of included features and the high level of support.

What do you dislike?

Nothing major. I have requested some feature adds which I am being told are added to the list.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would highly recommend this software for a sales org that needs to automate its outreach program.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is providing the ability to manage a large number of leads for a relatively small sales force and ensures that each lead is being managed within a consistent approach.

(Reviewed on 18 August 2020) "Outplay, an incredible tool with first class support."

What do you like best?

Although the platform is first-class, what really stands out is their customer support. No matter when I reach out someone is always ready and willing to help me and my business succeed. The support staff at Outplay is by far one of the best I have worked with in my 20-year tenure doing business online.

What do you dislike?

Outplay is like a swiss army knife and has changed how we do business. With this said, I would say that what the platform is missing is a the ability to create form and linking respondents directly into sequences. having this option would would be a game-changer for us.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Streamlined our outreach from multiple Saas platforms into one easy to use dashboard with one point of contact for support when we need it. It would take days to coordinate multiple support tickets when we encountered an issue with our workflow and now issues are resolved within minutes instead of days.

(Reviewed on 14 August 2020) "Finally, everything I was looking for in one place!"

What do you like best?

Believe me, I have tried a LOT of outreach platforms over the years.

The one I was using stopped servicing clients in Australia. And everything else fell short. That is until I found Outplay, which gave me everything I needed at a significantly lower price tag.

There were a few things I was looking for in particular...

1. Multi-channel sequences - my process intertwines LinkedIn, email, calling and miscellaneous tasks (e.g. direct mail, video, etc.). Most platforms ONLY focus on email. Or if they do have other task types, they are too restrictive around how they can be used. Outplay is extremely flexible in this respect.

2. If you want to scale outbound marketing over the long term, you NEED to be able to easily manage LOTS of contacts. It amazes how few platforms have functionality to make bulk updates/edits/exports. Outplay makes this simple. Bulk updates are easy, tags make managing everything simple, and the import/export functionality means you can update CSVs rather than trying to do complex manipulation in the platform.

3. No stupid roadblocks. It's crazy how many platforms will artificially limit what you can do with their platform. I've been doing outbound email for 5+ years and the devil is definitely in the detail. Outplay never feels overly restrictive. I'm able to setup all the personalisation, custom fields, integration, domain setup, etc. that I need to run a powerful, sustainable and successful campaign without silly hacks or workarounds that I would otherwise need to get in place if I were using other platforms.

What do you dislike?

When I think about how much time and money I've spent researching a platform that is actually a good fit for me, honestly, I'd be splitting hairs to find things I dislike about the platform.

It'd be great if they added the ability to run negative searches (e.g. city field is NOT "New York", etc.). Also, it'd also be handy if contacts had a unique ID over and above email address. (Some of my contacts only have LinkedIn URLs - so this would help with re-importing CSVs.)

I've found them to be proactive with feature requests... so come to think of it, I should probably request those things :o)

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Multi-step, multi-channel outbound marketing campaigns.

The main problem is that most platforms ONLY deal with email or ONLY deal with Linkedin or ONLY deal with outbound calling. Outplay brings it all together is a cohesive kind of way so I never end up with silos of data and I can be confident about which communications any given prospect has received... and what should happen next.

(Reviewed on 01 July 2020) "One of the best engagement tools for automation."

What do you like best?

The ability to set up custom triggers. i.e. So contacts are automatically added to specific sequences once created in your CRM. We use Pipedrive as our CRM and the native integration means we can set as many triggers up as we like so the automation is phenomenal.

Also, every team member is very knowledgable and available to speak to within minutes 7 days a week, we do not have to wait for a specialist in a particular area to get back to us.

What do you dislike?

Location & device data of opened emails not available. However, have informed the team and they asked how it would be beneficial as they take our feedback on board and consider implementing suggestions which is great to have.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make use of the triggers feature to automate processes.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workflow automation.

Reaching more prospects in less time.

Understanding which messaging works best via email through key metrics & AB testing.

Having a very synchronised CRM & Engagement tool without having to spend a lot of time to do so.

(Reviewed on 25 June 2020) "Fantastic tool for outreach"

What do you like best?

I absolutely love using Outplay for sales. Setting up a sequence is simple and adding various steps (email, sms, call) makes life so much easier.

I hadn't used anything like this previously and haven't seen any similar tools so have nothing to compare it with. It's kind of like a CRM mixed with an email marketing tool with added features.

The integrated dialler is a huge bonus for me. I can add a phone number (from Twilio) and send texts to prospects during the sequence. The phone system works well not just for making outgoing calls but for handling incoming calls too.

My use case so far has been for contacting people in my network as well as a few cold leads. I would be cautious with blasting out too many cold emails but that goes for any outreach you're doing.

I would love to see how others are using Outplay and I'm sure others are doing some pretty cool stuff. My setup didn't take long and was relatively easy to get going but you could do so much more if you spend the time.

I am considering using this for onboarding clients instead of just a series of emails.

Support has been great when needed, which hasn't been very often to be honest. When I have contacted the team they've gone above and beyond to help, even though one issue I had was due to a third-party tool.

What do you dislike?

It would be great to see more native integrations in the future. For example, moving prospects to my CRM/Client Portal system automatically from Outplay, and moving new leads from my email marketing software into a new sequence in Outplay.

The dialler system is great and I have no complaints. If they could add to it I'd like to see more features here so it could eventually become a full phone system for my business rather to replace VOIP or traditional phones. Again, the system works great for it's intended purpose but adding a voicemail option, call whispering, work hours (so voicemail automatically kicks in when your business is closed) and other phone functions would be a massive bonus.

One thing that has caused a slight issue is manual tasks pausing sequences if not marked complete. For instance, I could set an outreach sequence like: Day 1 email, Day 2 email, Day 3, email, Day 4 add on LinkedIn, Day 5 email, Day 6 call. The emails are sent automatically on the day you've set, but your manual task like adding your lead on LinkedIn needs to be marked complete before your sequence continues. It would be useful to maybe have the option to turn this off so that if you haven't completed a manual task the sequence would still carry on.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Remembering to follow-up with leads or remembering where people are in my pipeline is a struggle. Being able to add tasks (manual or automated) makes this so much easier and has worked well for me.

(Reviewed on 18 June 2020) "Really good and does exactly what i need it to"

What do you like best?

The ease of use and outreach facilities. I quite like to use it like a CRM but with email sequneces. Very useful

What do you dislike?

it's still got a few little issues and a few other features would be nice. The dialler function was poor in the UK, but this is more of a Twilio issue i think.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Well worth it keep on track of prospects and log tasks as a simple CRM

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping on top of a large number of prospects in an effective way

(Reviewed on 20 May 2020) "Impressive tool & great customer service"

What do you like best?

Outplay it's a great tool, with lot of useful features at a very reasonable cost. It's comparable with Reply or Outreach platforms, but at a lower price and with additional features such as website tracking rules to trigger sequences, and social media integration in the sequence follow up steps

What do you dislike?

I would suggest adding purchase options for international phone numbers, despite you can still call anywhere and change the Caller ID by verifying your number, it might be useful to purchase one directly from Outplay. However this is a minor item compared to all the benefits included

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sales Outreach and social selling
