Excellent Cross-Device Testing Tool

Pros: It's pretty straightforward and easy to set up. Setting up access to local development was as simple as installing a browser extension. BrowserStack makes cross-browser and cross-device testing extremely easy. You get access to the entire device environment, so you can access dev tools and the file manager.

Cons: It can be pretty slow at times, which is to be expected when remotely accessing another device, but it can cause the UI to feel cumbersome.

Overall: As a web developer, I use BrowserStack when needing to test something on Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer (we only have Macs at the office). It works extremely well for this and reduces costs for our company because we don't have to own and maintain Windows machines as well as Macs.

Must-have product for web agencies to test out

Pros: So easy to spin up different devices with different operating systems and view your websites to be able to test them for browser compatibility. Well worth the money.

Cons: Still, on the odd occasion will you run into a bug that you only experience on a real device and not on browserstack but that's few and far between and could be just for other reasons! Can be a bit slow sometimes too when compared to a real device.

Apposite web-testing tool

Pros: Linking the platform with different browsers and other pieces of software couldn't be any easier. Frankly, I would never expect it to be so plain and factually effortless, but the point is all you have to do to start testing process is enter the browser and log in inside the prog itself. There is just no better option at this point, so I consider BrowserStack to be a must-have for those who care about their websites' inner effectiveness. BrowserStack is a solid program for web and offline site testing, which may be done both manually and automatically. With the help of using BS in order to test real devices and environments it is possible to level up an overall performance of your company's e-workforce.

Cons: Sometimes the program slows down a bit, especially when a lot of data from a definite site or page is processed at a time. That factually makes it dependent on a hardware part and a quality of an Internet connection inside a network, which nowadays hardly ever bothers anyone, to be honest. Another thing to be underlined concerns pricing. The tool isn't of those that are cheap, so it is to be purchased after having been tried out thoroughly enough.

An essential tool for front-end devs (when it works)

Pros: - Uses actual devices and not emulators

- A wide range of devices and sizes are available

Cons: - The Chrome extension works about one out of five times you try it

- Lots of bugs in getting it to work, and often kicks you off the device for unknown reasons

- The connection is slow, but to be expected with remote connection to a live device

- Sometimes bugs still do not show on BrowserStack which I can see on my own device of the same type

- Checking localhost sites is especially difficult to get working

Overall: Cross checking responsiveness is a MUST for web design, but using this tool is close to a nightmare. It typically takes me 15-20 minutes just to get it working correctly, and I can't explain why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Their chrome plugin and the desktop app seem to work in connection to each other, but how or why they work sometimes and not others is a complete mystery.

Testing Localhost sites especially will give you a headache as the tech just isn't well designed for a good user experience.

Great for testing our product compatibility over different browsers

Pros: This is perfect for when we have to test our software product over multiple browsers. We like to be as versatile in browser support as we can and this is a great way for us to test new features and find any bugs across different browsers.

Cons: The response time for some of the older browsers like IE11 can be slow sometimes.
