What are the best aspects of this product?

I love Splashtop. Easy to install, easy to configure, easy to navigate. It's an affordable and all-around solution for remote tech support!

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

So far, I only have a good experience with Splashtop!

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It helps me control my servers even if I'm working remotely. I believe this is a super useful app, especially for small companies.

Powerful app!

PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

Deployment is super easy! Our clients no longer have to worry about getting tech support regardless of their location.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It doesn't automatically update the computer names in the system when the name is changed by its users.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We mainly use it to provide support to clients who are working from home. It's a time- and energy-saving way to troubleshoot computer issues.

A work-from-home essential

PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

It allows me to login to my personal computer even if I'm away. We also use this in our office, and as an IT support, it's super useful for me because it allows me to see what's going on in various computers and troubleshoot it without having to go to their work area and use their computers. I can do it by just accessing theirs from my computer.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It would be better if they improve the monitor viewing, especially when switching the views. The current way to view monitors isn't that optimized because I find the fonts too small.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It helps a lot when working from home.

My company and our clients love this!

PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

This is a good app that provides remote control for IT support items. The machine assignments can be moved, but you have to be careful in doing so. I love that the app can be accessed by multiple users and really does its job. My team also uses this for personal use!

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It's hard to change the name of the computers in the database. I also wish that the support team can show one window at a time. I don't like multiple windows cramped on a screen.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We mainly use this to assist our customers in securely managing HVAC and various control systems. This is a good tool for providing internal support for our clients. Our help desk services definitely improved, and I can say that using Splashtop is beneficial to our company.

Secure way to manage different computers

PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

Splashtop offers tons of options for features. You can select and pay for only the features you would need. This is more affordable. Worth the price especially that it has a functional mobile app.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The anti-virus add-on is a bit pricey. It would also take time to print using the local printer.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Providing support to clients remotely is now possible. We no longer have to visit the office to troubleshoot.

"Splashtop works well, is fast and is secure with 2-factor logins."

What do you like best?

I like that Splashtop has many options. I can pick and choose what I want to purchase and add more features later if I want to. The price is very affordable. A mobile device client is available too which is great for supporting client while on the road. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Adding advanced features like anti-virus monitoring and support for handheld devices is a little costly, but I like that it is an option. Printing to the local computer's printer works but sometimes requires extra effort to set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are a few other products similar to Splashtop with similar prices. Compare them if you will. Splashtop is a strong contender. I would leave LogMeIn out of the picture. "Comprehensive Remote Support tool with reasonable pricing and good support"

What do you like best?

The Splashtop streamer (remote client) is easy to add into a provisioning package, with group assignment baked into the MSI file at download. With many users and groups, having the access control in the installer is just the right way to do it. Moving machine assignments after the fact is no problem, but getting it right the first time is important. If performance wasn't really good, none of this would matter, so getting all the basics done well is the minimum. Splashtop is so good, several of my engineers have purchased Splashtop Personal for access to their home machines! Multiple user access is also a big help for support in complicated situations. What do you dislike?

It's an irritant that a pre-deployment name (%MACHINE%_001, %MACHINE%_002) gets stuck in the console and does not update with the machine name as deployed (FIELD_M_07 for a notebook out in the field). It's not a big deal but requires eventual cleanup. Having the logged in user's identity as a searchable value makes it JUST an irritant. The other thing is teaching support folks to switch between remote monitors rather than have them all crammed into one screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Identify your use cases, whether you need a few simultaneous admins supporting many computers -OR- do you need a many-to-many relationship. For us, as we use it across several different divisions in addition to Information Technology, licensing by device made great sense compared to licensing by administrator. Splashtop has all the bases covered, and they will help you figure out what the best fit for you is as part of your evaluation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We originally purchased Splashtop to support computers staged at customer sites for our two Controls groups. They need unattended access for managing the HVAC and industrial controls systems in a secure manner. I wouldn't let them continue using "free" versions of competing software, as it violated the licensing and they were having constant troubles with the connections and transferring large configuration files. Splashtop worked VERY well in comparison to a competing product we were using for internal support. We re-evaluated our helpdesk use case and upped our licensing for Splashtop, so it is part of the standard configuration for workstations and notebooks going out to the field or to remote offices and jobsites. Since the start of the COVID-19 WFH directives, the investment in Splashtop is a HUGE success, we have had very few issues that can't be resolved with a Splashtop session and a phone call. "Great for working remotely and for IT support"

What do you like best?

I like that I am easily able to log into my computer from home. It is also nice that you can restart your computer and still log back into it. With some of the other remote log in sites, I have used in the past, if your computer restarted someone would have to start the remote program back up. I work in the IT department so it is also nice because we have it set up on other computers through the office. This allows me to see what is happening on their computer without having to go to their computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I wish it was easier to see each of your monitors and that it would tell you which monitor you opened your document or folder. You have to click a dropdown at the top to switch between your monitors. "Easy to use, powerful customization"

What do you like best?

Splashtop is easy to deploy, meaning that your clients will have to do nothing on their end to be ready for remote support at any given time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Computers are registered once in Splashtop when you deploy it yourself. I wish there was a way to automatically update the name when the computer name changes, but honestly that's not a big deal. The admin can still set the name to whatever they want, but it's not automatic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With the outbreak of COVID-19, we are using Splashtop to give technical support to people working at home. I've found that before we used it, it would actually take nearly 5 times longer to troubleshoot a problem by explaining what to check and click on, with many problems that were unsolvable.
