What is ManageCal?

ManageCal is a shared calendar for any organisation that schedules people, rooms and equipment, from a school or a restaurant to a clinic, a club or a company: one workspace holds several calendars, each split into colour-coded sub-calendars, with access set per person per sub-calendar and custom fields for the details your work needs.

How do people sign in?

With a link sent to their email address. There are no passwords to set, share or reset.

What does “no details” access mean?

They can see that a time is taken, and on which calendar, and nothing else. The title reads Reserved and the details are never sent to their browser. Searching for them finds nothing either.

Will someone see a calendar they have not been given?

No. Access is set per person, per sub-calendar, and a sub-calendar someone has no access to does not appear for them at all, not even as a locked row.

Can we change our fields once events use them?

Yes. Rename any field and the values follow it. Change its type and every value that fits is kept; a change that would lose one is refused, and the message says which.

What happens to events if we delete a sub-calendar?

Events only on that sub-calendar are deleted, and events also on another stay there. You see both numbers before you confirm, and hiding the sub-calendar instead keeps everything.

Do repeating events survive daylight saving?

Yes. A nine o’clock meeting stays at nine o’clock local time through the change, because repeats are worked out in the event’s own time zone rather than by adding hours.
