What do you like best?

Ease of use is clearly the overriding theme in the design of this software. From the start, the system walks the user through the complete process of on-boarding. The flexibility of the system allows us to completely customize the on-boarding process. This system also in capable of integrating with a large number of third party vendors, from payroll to insurance carriers to COBRA administration, making benefits administration simple and efficient.

The system also automatically notifies our insurance professionals, mitigating the need for additional emails or phone calls.

What do you dislike?

Communication with the benefits platform coordinator (the person setting up the benefits plans and contributions) must be on point. This is not a shortcoming of the Employee Navigator system, but rather a common tenet pertaining to all Ben Admin systems.

The less the system is used by a client, the less value it will represent. Be sure to have all parties on the same page regarding the use of the system.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Many supplemental insurance providers will off this system at no cost. They will typically administer the system for you and assist with integrations.

Employee Navigator is capable of handling all aspects of benefits management. The benefits are numerous - my clients save time every month, and at Open Enrollment as we can generate reports in just a few clicks. The more a company uses this system, the more benefit they realize.

What do you like best?

Very easy to use from the admin side, also makes it an easy experience for employees of all technology levels. Provides a great program to really address the needs of the HR user- it's NOT just useful to the insurance broker but can really be an all in one solution for the HR administrator. By providing these things to the HR user as their broker, it helps maintain your value to them outside of just the benefits you help them provide. It is very easy for the employee to use- mobile friendly as well as available on a desktop. The mobile friendly nature helps with implementation- most if not all employees at companies, even blue collar, have smart phones. For the few who don't, it's the difference for the HR user between 50, 100, 200 paper apps versus a small handful they assist with enrollment. Definite game changer.

What do you dislike?

Would love to be able to embed videos that aren't just YouTube videos

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Streamlining the benefits enrollment process internally- even on clients that don't enroll through the system we are using this to track them internally. It's great for minimizing human error, giving employees more visibility to the benefits they are offered, and improving the number of benefits chosen by the employees. We also use it internally for PTO tracking as well as new employee onboarding and have found it to be a seamless system from all sides.

Employee Navigator is a trusted "home base" for our agency and our clients - a reliable source for the group insurance, hiring & term policies, and a constant resource for employees. The process for employees during Open Enrollment is so clear, understood, and well received on all levels - from management to support staff - from agents to clients - and makes it so much easier to work with insurance carriers for the client and the agent.

What do you like best?

Employee Navigator is a dream to all parties involved. Whether you are a broker, HR user, or an employee, the system benefits are abundant. The system is intuitive for employees to follow the flow of enrolling into benefits and waiving those plans they aren't interested in. HR Users are able to track enrollments, payroll deductions (Payroll integrations available), and onboarding new hires. Everything becomes electronic and eliminates mass quantities of paperwork. Brokers are able to manage wall notifications for in-house processing and give the client a stylish and professional look to a small to mid size company. You are able to provide bells and whistles to your clients. The multiple carrier integrations with Employee Navigator reduce manual labor costs and saves time.

What do you dislike?

As a plan builder for our company, I would be more efficient if I could pull the plans and rates from a library or database instead of loading them manually.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Most of the issues I find are due to lack of training of our staff or HR Users. If everyone could take the time to learn the ins and outs of Employee Navigator, it would reduce the headaches and time spent troubleshooting because data was entered incorrectly.

What do you like best?

Even those with no systems background can easily learn the system. The Employee Navigator support is extremely helpful, and they are always looking to enhance the system and take broker feedback. Their integration with so many carriers and payroll vendors is beyond any other system I'm aware of.

What do you dislike?

I honestly can't think of anything negative. No system is perfect, but there are no glaring downsides to the system. The only feedback we receive from clients is with regard to onboarding tool because they would like employees to be able to setup their own SSN to create a login.

Setup all of your clients, even if the client does not use the system, it will be very beneficial to your team.

We have achieved much more efficiency within our team. It has streamlined our processes and allowed us more time to focus on Customer Service.

Easy to use. Great Customer Service. Fast response to any issues that may arise. They are focused on making this platform the best that it can be and constantly update with feedback from users. Great System.

There are some features that they are still working on for groups with more complex benefit packages.

one stop shop system for groups. Groups that have not had any technology in the past, this is a great system to put them on since it is so easy to use.

Direct LIVE assistance readily available by friendly, cheerful staff, aka EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and the readily available reporting needed for clients.

What do you dislike?

Can't reach live person after 7 p.m. cst, some reports do not have all info needed-have to extract from several different reports, and some items are in PDF only

Census reporting, costs for employers vs employees per product, headcount per product, per tier, everything needed for online enrollment can be set up to include videos, summaries, etc.

What do you like best?

This is an easy, straight forward system that is intuitive on the employee side, and provides HR/broker with the information they need. Employee Navigator is receptive to suggestions for enhancements and functionality, and is quick to answer questions and provide solutions to problems. There are systems of checks and balances within the system that help to ensure benefits are being communicated timely and that they are or have been processed once elected.

What do you dislike?

The help desk system (Zendesk) Employee Navigator uses is great for allowing users to submit enhancement requests, questions, etc. There is not a lot of feedback from Employee Navigator, though, about whether or not a request is being considered. There are requests that have been sitting for years and seem to be important. It would be nice if Employee Navigator could respond to let people know they are working on the enhancement request or that they cannot implement the request and the reason for the limitation.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The first few set ups can take some time, but utilizing the Library feature of Employee Navigator cuts our time by 75%. It can be a daunting task to enter all information for all companies/groups, but it is so worth it in the end.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As Employee Navigator becomes integrated with more and more carriers, many enrollments are automatic. The amount of time this has saved is equal to one full time employee for managing a book of business of about 150 groups, and 3,500 eligible employees. We use a COBRA TPA that is integrated with Employee Navigator, which also saves us time and ensures compliance. The timeline within Employee Navigator has allowed us to show/prove that we have offered coverage for groups who are ALEs, thus also ensuring their compliance with the offer of coverage requirement.

What do you like best?

Employee Navigator is a good balance of a simple and easily navigated User Interface and yet still retains the ability to create custom solutions for each employer who has unique employee benefit designs. WE're convinced that there is no prefect system either the UI is extremely easy to use but has very little customization or the UI is difficult and confusing and the customization is limitless. We have tried every system out there and Employee Navigator leads the market in striking the best balance. We love that they continue to listen to their clients and are constantly improving the system.

What do you dislike?

Very little. There are always going to be automation's, integrations, or ways to improve the system. WE are always asking for more from Employee Navigator but they are responding and we love that.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We have experienced a high level of customer service and as well as an ever improving platform. We love it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Easy and accurate benefits enrollment with electronic data feeds to the carriers. This cuts down on the inaccuracies and inefficiencies of the past. Also communications to the employees about the benefits is increasing the overall value that the employer is seeing from the benefits they pay so much for. On boarding of the employees which leads to time saved for HR and also improves the new hire experience.

What do you like best?

The support staff at EN is always ready to help with questions or issues that you have. The task of setting up an online enrollment tool can be daunting so it is nice to have their expertise on your side as you wow your clients with a system that will meet their needs for Open Enrollment as well as ongoing enrollment.

What do you dislike?

While EN is more than capable of being the HRIS solution that your clients are looking for, complicated and/or complex groups can be a bit tricky and may require workarounds. But as with all systems there are limitations and EN is constantly working to make those limitations disappear with software updates that aim to make your lives as well as your client's lives easier.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Go to the their annual conference each year and see for yourself the buzz around EN. I have gone the last 4 years and each year there are more brokers and more carriers/3rd parties that are integrating with EN.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Employee Navigator is our go to resource for groups looking to move away from paper enrollments and into the 21st century with an HR solution that will not only help with the Open Enrollment process, but the ongoing process of new hire enrollments, on-boarding, ACA filing at the beginning of the year and even PTO should you be looking at implementing a new policy with the coming year.
