Built-in features like screen and audio sharing, meeting recording, branded rooms, and customizable room links mean that users can make the most of their video meetings. And now, with Whereby’s new API product, Whereby embedded, companies can easily add video meetings to their website or app. With a quick turnaround time and minimal coding requirements, it’s ideal for connecting with consultants, clinicians, teachers, students, sales teams, and other specialists.

"Working with whereby for half a year and its simple, stable, and completely reliable."

What do you like best?

The nice thing about whereby is the great simplicity: Mail a link to the recipients, who click on it, and that's it. No extra software to install, no app, everything runs through the browser.

The interface is kept nice and simple and clean. Even novices understand the icons and the operation immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Nothing. Its a reliable tool in everyday life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

You should definitely give it a try! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We used to travel a lot to meet other people. Today 90% of all meetings run through whereby. We save a lot of time and money ... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Whereby + Miro integration, gamechanging"

What do you like best?

Haven't had a major technical issue yet, all video calls have been great. Miro integration is brilliant and makes it so much better for collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not much, maybe that you can't readjust the size of the presentation frame but that's very minor Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A more engaging virtual collaboration. Miro also has its built-in video but have encountered connection issues most of the time. When I transferred to Whereby + Miro integration, haven't had connection issues, and we still get the functionality that makes Miro an amazing collaboration tool. "The most convenient and versatile online meeting service"

What do you like best?

Whereby is better than other meeting services because it does not mandate the downloading of an app, uses WebRTC and best of all has really simple joining links which stay the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Meeting recording is a bit hacky right now, using the browser tab sharing features of Chrome. I wish it could happen at a server level so that it is not affected by connection or by accidentally closing the recording tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The free account is powerful and the upgrade to pro is reasonable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Really convenient meetings which invitees do not find hard to join. No more resending invitations. No more lost links. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Loving it since first use!"

What do you like best?

I love that it's simple and it just works as intended. We've been using Whereby for years and it's always been our go-to solutio for working with our online communities. Highly recommended! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The only issue we had with Whereby was a limitation on people who could be in the room at one time, but that limitation has been greatly expanded, so now we can have up to 50 people at once in a room!

Occasionally there is a user that will have issues getting signed on, however this is common to all platforms in my experience where even though the system is extremely simple those users still have issues. For 99% of users it is so simple and just works - that's why we love using it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're thinking about it - just give it a shot! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed a solution for an 'always on' virtual space for our students to meet up and work together. It's a fantastic solution for co-working, co-studying etc and it's great because you don't even need an account - you just need a url and you are good to go! "Whereby is a great tool for workplaces during this COVID virtual time!"

What do you like best?

The ease of getting people into meetings, the simplicity of use/ controls is great! The flexibility and ease to add members to meetings (i.e. upgrading to up the total number of allowed attendees), is useful.

We enjoy the whiteboard, screen sharing, and chat functions. It allows me to share my screen to cover reports or give an update on a project. Being able to just book mark a meeting room is great, unlike zoom where you need to click a meeting reminder or hand key in a meeting code.

The ease of locking down a room is fantastic too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The video quality can be grainy at times. Some days there is a sync issue between video and audio. Also, sometimes we need to refresh to fix the "black box" that happens for some people when they join.

I wish it were easier to allow others to record meetings. Perhaps I am missing where that feature is.

The room members being able to all kick someone or end the meeting can be a bit troll-y. Perhaps adding an admin role above the member role would be useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Definitely use Whereby! It provides you with the functionality of zoom or skype, but is easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With the pandemic, Whereby is helping my team feel as if we have coworkers there, with us, during the work day. It also gives us a quick way to meet together for quick things.

We tend to hang out together during the day, and just chat while we work. It's like a virtual water cooler! I've had multiple people tell me this has helped them transition to working at home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Does exactly what you need"

What do you like best?

I hold video conferences with many different clients across many different platforms, so when it came to determining which was the best fit for me, Whereby won on stability, consistency and quality. My clients find the one click log-in easy to use, I can lock the room and monitor who is requesting entry, the video and sound quality are great and far more stable than some of the other big players in the market. My clients find the one click sign in really convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Occasionally clients report that clicking on the Whereby room link takes them to Google Maps and a location in San Fran Sisco, but this seems to be linked to their browser settings rather than anything Whereby have done. Other than that, nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I have found Whereby to be the best video and audio conferencing platform for my business. The free version allows for up to 4 people to join the call, which is great for small businesses, but you can pay to upgrade which is perfect as the business grows. You can add your own branding and the "knock to enter" room locking feature give a feeling of greater security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The need to communicate with multiple parties in a single video conference with confidence in the stability and ease of use of the platform. A solution that is easy to use for both me and my clients and also a recognised player in the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super easy to use"

What do you like best?

It's great that I can startup calls and meetings with just a link, and that there's no need to download and install anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Video quality on mobile devices is usually low, which can be difficult for some people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Scheduling meetings while working from home is no longer an issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"No more hassle with clients needing to install software"

What do you like best?

It is simple. Just open the channel link and be part of the conversation. No more downloading and installing software – easy to use. Before we tried numerous competitors and always had to wait for at least one person in the conversation to get the software, their video or their microphone to work. Now it just works with every client we have a meeting with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sorry, can't come up with anything I dislike – it’s just too good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Stop wasting time in meetings with clients that need to download software first or having difficulties getting it to run.

With whereby everything works browser based and super-easy.

Again: It really comes down to this: focus on the meeting, not on the software or getting your microphone to work Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Easy to use, reliable and works on all devices. I set up different channels and clients can easily join without the hassle of a microphone or camera not working. As I said – super easy. We are also using the feature of different channels. So we can split up and have meetings with different clients at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
