"Established Product w/ powerful integration and customization"

What do you like best?

Microsoft SQL Server is a long and well established database product that provides complete relational db possibilities for integrating into cloud, web, and windows projects. In addition it's connectors have the ability to relate to the full microsoft ecosystem of products which comes in handy setting up power platform apps, workflows, and sharepoint sites. microsoft has taken great pains to continually improve performance, indexing and integration abilities over the years. The product enables us to provide best in class relational database management capabilities to all over our client's websites.

What do you dislike?

it is large scale so if you are looking for something lightweight for smaller websites it is probably not for you. it also takes some learning curve and is helpful to have a dedicated admin in full IT environments. however this can be overcome by the wealth of information available out there due to it's longevity as a product.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Find an admin familiar with setup and best practices

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

microsoft sql server serves as the backbone behind our 300+ client websites. Each site can have it's dedicated single tenant database while administration is conducted equally over them. Developers and designers can be give permissions as needed and security can be setup as robustly as needed to protect client data. We are also able to develop automated stored procedures and run via server agents that pull data and send to executive leadership as needed.

"Long time business run win MSSQL"

What do you like best?

MSSQL it's a true relational database, with enough power to build on it from a small business to a large company, we been using it for our RPG for almost 18 years now

What do you dislike?

We don't like that Microsoft upgrade the product about every 2 years, we've consider this nonsense, We know Microsoft is a business after all but small companies don't have money to spend on MS SQL evry 2 month so it's likely that we stay behind some years from the current version

Recommendations to others considering the product:

don't upgrade the product each 2 years please

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been using it as the database motor for our ERP (intelisis) and with Power BI we've been able to produce amazing mining capable reports
