SQL Server, easy to use database solution

Pros: I cannot attest too much about the schemas and speed of SQL Server. However, versus oracle or other database solutions, SQL server is extremely easy to use in sending queries, and backing up and restoring databases in daily operations.

Cons: Speed can sometimes be slow when controlling databases through SQL Studio

Robust and reliable database

Pros: Integration with .net plateform is very easy and efficient that help us developing our projects.

It support all new features of .net framework like entity framework databses(code first) that help a lot in fast developing.

It is very robust and can be used with many high performace required appliaction.

Great SSMS with the latest 2017 version.

It is very wasy to cloneservers and setup dummy servers as well as backing up all the databses and make scripts of them.

Cons: Installation of sql sever takes much time that can be improve obviously.

intellisence can be improved as it is chanllengeing to write queries witout errors for any novice.

Overall: It is a great databse fordeveloping .net appliactions and may be with others too. As a .net developer it is an integral part of my daily developement tools and it proved its robustness always.

SQL server is great, especially when comparing to Oracle

Pros: The overall architecture of SQL server is clear and easy to understand

Users need only one account for the whole SQL server, and not an account per Database

SQL server Management Studio is a perfect client to communicate with SQL server

Integration with Windows 10 and Visual Studio is near to perfect

Clear pricing

Cons: It's not clear when to use SQL Server Express, or when to use SQL server.

Overall: I also have experience with developing in Oracle, and each time I have to work in Oracle I realize how good SQL Server is. Almost in every way SQL server is better, from Ease of use to pricing.

Using SQL Server as an application database host

Pros: That it provides most of it's functionality on the free-of-charge versions, charging only users who are to be using it for managing big amounts of stored data or are looking for special features.

Cons: Some simple functionality was not easily done by an inexperienced user on previous verision- this has improved though in later ones.

Overall: SQL Server helps hosting data for our application, while also providing tools that are needed for clients, as is easily backing databases up and restoring them.

Administration and end user SQL Server

Pros: Easy administration of Databases, enable to authenticate with local and domain users, especial compatibility with more advances versions.

Cons: Is Very expensive at the market, that 's make other Database Managements more porpular like Mysql and Postgrest. When you try to make a cluster configuration still very complicate.

Overall: Is a very strong software for the management of large numbers of databases and it's have all the basics features very useful for every day operations.

Great for Enterprise application

Pros: Even for beginners it's easy to use. Great for creation, management and easy to learn. The query analyser is awesome. Inbuilt template for New Database, stored procedure, views, tables. Easy to generate script for table and it's data. Execution plan is really helpful when writing complex queries. Overall, I really like it. I have full version installed my machine and have disabled some services which I don't want like SQL Agent.

Cons: The heavy one. I know it has many in built features like sending emails directly from database and generate reports but still heavy. Sometime I couldn't restore the backup from older version and that is painful. The price is high, may be the reason they have done tremendious job since they release 2005 version.

Overall: I will rate it 9/10. Looking into features and ease to operate, performance etc. I have tried other DBs but personally like this one. SSDT is great component for Visual Studio and sometime you don't need to run SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), as you get most of it on SSDT, but database engine must be running. I love it.
