What is Tenmil and how does it work?
Tenmil is a CMMS and EAM platform built for companies that run heavy equipment: construction and earthworks contractors, aggregates producers, and mining operations. It is designed for maintenance departments keeping excavators, dozers, loaders, and haul trucks working across shops, yards, and remote job sites. Who it is for: equipment and maintenance managers who need one system of record for the fleet; shop foremen and heavy-duty mechanics who work from work orders and parts in the field; and operations and finance leaders who need to know what each machine costs to run. How it works: preventive maintenance in Tenmil is scheduled by hour meter, by calendar, or both, with meter readings entered in the field or pulled from a telematics feed. Work orders capture labor, parts, and outside services, and every closed work order writes those costs into the asset's history. From that history the platform calculates true equipment cost per hour using a shop rate allocation method, which fleet managers use to set internal rates, price work, and support repair-or-replace decisions with real numbers. Modules include asset and component tracking, work orders, parts inventory, purchase orders, inspections, backlog management, fault code alerts, warranty tracking, geozones, time cards, and fleet-wide analytics. Tenmil integrates with ERP, accounting, and telematics systems. The mobile app works fully offline, so crews on sites without coverage can still create work orders, request parts, and check their time cards. Onboarding includes migration of existing asset, parts, and maintenance records, and pricing is published on the Tenmil website.

CMMS software (Computerised Maintenance Management System) was initially launched as the punch cards for managing work orders. However, they have evolved over the years and are now being utilized for maintaining a centralized record of the assets and equipment, which are managed by the maintenance teams. This software even records maintenance activities and track them, keeping a full-fledged record of the work they have executed so far. Further, CMMS software permit maintenance teams to streamline workflows and harness the strength of digital transformation in their performance execution of external work requests recording asset history, managing inventory, and even auditing and certification.
Also referred to as the Enterprise Asset Management Software or EAM software, a CMMS software is a time-efficient smart solution that helps manage assets and improves performance graph of the maintenance teams. However, which CMMS software would work best for your organization depending on various factors that need to be reviewed before finalizing the same.
