Yes, Upserve POS provides API.
It’s the middle of service and it’s demanding an update. When selecting to update it does nothing.
For three years straight, Upserve support is dismal, when it’s not blatantly dismissive of the request being made. Updates are inconsistently deployed, and some iPads update through the app while others insist on pulling through the App Store...apparently through a 14.4k modem. Some updates work (semi-)smoothly, and others hang perennially, even through multiple reboots. Not a pleasant experience after-hours, but quite the treat while a customer stands by, waiting to pay for their meal. This is infuriating when repeated attempts to be proactive are tossed blithely back to the user (paying thousands $$ per year) for a turnkey system that leaves us down until we resolve it ourselves. Again. Not happy. Not recommended.
Forced to upgrade but when we upgrade it and it doesn't do anything. And it has to update in the middle of business day. We are forced out of the app and couldn't update.
Why did you take away being able to sign in to hq on mobile devices? This app doesn't give me any of the info I'm looking for and I don't carry a computer around with me.

The best thing about Upserve is how user friendly it is. Easy to find products and create new payments types. Customer services are helpful and supportive. Menu setup is easy and intuitive. I like how you can copy an item and change items within seconds. The staff are able to use the program in training mode to become efficient using the product prior to service.
Would like some better back-end reporting options like searching for the last 4 digits of a credit card when trying to find a particular transaction. There are times that the system goes down and while it is easy to use in offline mode, it is frustrating that it went down so often. It seems that this problem has be fixed recently.
If you are looking for effective, easy to use POS system at an affordable price, I would recommend this product.
Upserve makes service quick and easy for staff. When onboarding new staff, they are able to pick up the system within a day or two which makes it easy for them to move forward with training.
