We have used multiple SIP trunk carriers for our PBX in the past but none of them get close to the simplicity of ZenTrunk. It just feels like a software first product. We will soon try and use ZenTrunk for our other systems once we are back in office.

Plivo has been improving since we signed up a long time ago. The new console was a bit confusing at the start, but we have now gotten used to it. We are happy with the platform but the sales team is pretty pushy.There are places where Plivo can improve like documentation, additional features on the console and a leave us alone sales team.I would have given a 4 stars for this review, but giving 5 to balance all the nasty reviews which seem very non-genuine.

I first used Plivo in my previous role where we built a notification engine for our internal alerts like Pagerduty. Now we also use them in my current company and my experience at both the places has been good. Earlier, we had downtimes with them but this has changed considerably over the last 2 years. I would recommend them as very reliable platform that has not disappointed our team and our company.

Difficult to locate call recordings quickly (cannot search by telephone number)

Go ahead, consider that cloud based software is not always as reliable as fixed landlijnes, however you are offered flexibility

We started using Plivo just before COVID, and this year we have relied more on them to message our customers. They have an excellent API and well documented examples.I wish someday they add more reporting around deliver rates and times for our teams to view and action.

We are a fast growing startup with customers around the globe and we needed a reliable way to reach our customers. We initially started with Twilio, but then later added Plivo as a backup. Now we only use Plivo for all our communication. I am now trying to have my team move to PHLO which will reduce our dev times even more.FYI: Our account also got blocked initially as some of the other reviews mention here, but their support team was great and they helped us set back up seamlessly.

We use Plivo's SMS API for notifications to our customers, so it's important that these messages get to our users in time. We were using another vendor earlier who is much larger (T#*!!*o), but moved over with all our traffic as they clearly have much better support and a simpler API. It was easy to migrate and whenever we have had any delays with delivery the team has been pretty responsive.I would certainly recommend them to others.

I've found Plivo's documentation to be very detailed. They have made many improvements in the last 2 years, starting with the website, console, docs, and regular communication. It feels like the company is growing, and I am happy to have chosen them as my SMS API partner.

What do you like best?

Plivo reps are very helpful and are great at following up! For instance, when we had a number port out without being notified, they did tons of research and found out what day and time, so we were able to go back to the client with the information. The client was happy and so were we!

What do you dislike?

I don't like that if we don't respond we get another email letting us know. If we don't respond it is because the problem has been resolved. We do not want to have more emails letting us know we have an idle email. We know when we need to respond but sometimes we have to move on to another issue.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

My advice would be to make sure that they are familiar with the portal, because once you are familiar with the portal you will have an easier time navigating and communicating with both Plivo and your clients.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As long as we keep our communication open with them they are helpful with porting. They also are very fast to help us when we need assistance, which has been a lot lately. They also make sure that we understand the resolution they are suggesting.

What do you like best?

Versatile, well documented API available in all major languages enabled me to develop my own product, fully web integrated, limited only by my own vision of the possible. A solid foundation for the high call quality, fast and reasonably priced communications service we provide.

Very knowledgeable and helpful technical support, even for a non-premium account, with prompt and focused answers - no trawling through a maze of AI generated FAQ possibilities before even bothering to read your issue.

Powerful and clearly laid out console with all logging and debug features necessary to troubleshoot the majority of issues.

What do you dislike?

I truly find it hard to highlight any shortcomings of Plivo. I have found them to be streets ahead of their competitors in this market. Pricing can always be improved, but everything is clear from the outset, with no unpleasant surprises on the billing front.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Enabling low-cost global communication from any internet connected device.

Fully automated subscription and billing system - no need to employ staff to do the donkey work of maintaining and running the service.

Allows us to provide an alternative low-cost VOIP network for those seeking to migrate away from privacy 'free' providers.

True Pay As You Go service provision with no contract or monthly fees for us, means we can pass on these same benefits to our customers.

We have yet to use all the facilities available from Plivo, but they can easily be added should we find the demand.
