"Modular content manager with incredible features"

What do you like best?

It is an online platform with which I can create very advanced web applications, I like Joomla because I can install different modules for different purposes, its interface is very intuitive and it is also very customizable if you have the necessary knowledge, it is very good to take statistical control of your application or web page.

What do you dislike?

To be able to use Joomla requires a good knowledge in web programming since some of its functions can be a little difficult to understand, besides the installation of some modules can be difficult.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Before using Joomla, keep in mind that you need some knowledge in web programming to make some of your configurations, but there is no doubt that it will be a very useful tool in your work.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I will keep using Joomla and can't recommend enough

Pros: I found Joomla to be a great tool that was used as the back end engine of our customer facing website. As someone with some technical skills, I was able to learn how to use the editing tools pretty quickly, I learned how to be a user administrator and set up permissions for our customer portal to allow ease of access for customer materials - the overall set up of these features was a very stress free process.

Cons: Depending on how you've decided to use this content management tool, the process of upgrading certain features and customizing the back end user interface can be challenging when the needs arise. I find the normal challenges that I've found with similar content management tools, however there is little that I dislike from a back end user perspective.

Overall: I was able to collaborate on design changes to our corporate website with my fellow designers and developers, and overall the experience of editing, designing, previewing, and publishing content was at first a little time consuming to follow all the steps, but eventually was so easy to follow time and time again. It is a tool that myself and my colleagues continue to turn to when we have web development tasks that need to be completed and with new features continuing to be pushed out, it's never been a better time to learn how to use and train others on the program as well.

Confusing interface

Pros: Joomla was the first CMS I used to build blogs and even a social network. Huge amounts of extensions to install and templates are easy to customise.

Cons: The artificial separation in plugins, modules or components makes no sense and often time users are confused where to make a change. I prefer WordPress which has just one type of extension.

You can make a very presentable site with it ,but don't expect miracles

Pros: It's a great program to use if you are just getting into creating sites .This is because there is a free version and it is very friendly to beginners . There are a lot of templates to choose from .

Cons: Joomla! doesn't have the capabilities to support more complicated pages. Good for small businesses , but definitely won't recommend to a company that wants to be taken seriously.

"Steep learning curve"

What do you like best?

Customizability and powerful tools and plugins. I like that it's an open source platform and the access that provides

What do you dislike?

The really steep learning curve not nearly as point and click as wordpress it's really tough coming from a background of something else without much experience to try and learn

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you have the time to learn it's great

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm not as good at writing code and there are plugins to do that for you

CMS for beginners

Pros: All beginners in creating sites are advised by Joomla, and for good reason: using the system it is easy to create a functioning web resource in a short time. A set of tools is enough to make an individual and a small site.

Cons: Their technical support is not the best. There is nothing for advanced users to search for in Joomla, and for large projects this CMS is not intended, but it is perfect for a one-page website or a blog.

"Un buen CMS, pero se ha quedado atrás"

What do you like best?

What do you dislike?

Recommendations to others considering the product

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
