Yes, Eclipse Che provides API.
Editor is great and being open source supports a wide variety of plugins from marketplace needed for developing, testing and deploying application
Expect much smoother UI that works faster
Would highly recommend for any open source software development involving java, phython, C++ etc. Would take care of both development and deployment (with plugins)
Working on integrating projects that require to compile Java code. It is highly customisable for any product
Eclipse is an very well managed product which makes my job easy and quick. I love the eclipse market place cause it offer all verity for plug-in which help everyone to make there work smooth and easy. Sometime I think if eclipse would not be there to help us , our life(developers life) would be a mess.
I would like to Thanks Eclipse foundation to make our life easy.
Eclipse is best product I ever see for development but still there are some issue which I faced.
1. sometime hangs too much if we run big application.
2. if want older version of eclipse ,it not that much of easy to found it over internet.
3. There should some demo type of thing for explaining the shortcut so new guys can get confirmable in short time
I worked on a application which is completely java based application. I do development in java in my day to day life.
I personally found below benefits of using it my day to day to life.
1. Easy to debug the logic so I can find issue/bug very easily.
2. provide run time environment in side.
3. provide lot of plug in and all are free which make my job easy.
Everything about eclipse is great. One can get generic facilities in almost all the programming languages through different versions
Crashes sometimes and data loss may happen too
Look for best suited version
Java development for financial services. Easy to use and third party plugin are available in embedded marketplace
Eclipse provides a platform to write java codes with ease
Sometimes auto suggestions crashes which is painful
One of the best IDE for beginners and is a great thing to work with.
Web development using spring framework
Easy to add the plugin feature is the best. I have added various plugins like SonarQube, Spring boot, JUnit, and many others, and started working instantly. I don't need to do the path setting for these things. Even if we stuck somewhere we get help over google as everything related to this Eclipse it mentioned there like error handling and all. Even, project repository handling is very good in Eclipse.
I also like the refractor option in Eclipse, it is very helpful. Along with this we can create and switch between different workspaces in Eclipse.
There is no such dislike but it seems a little difficult to understand by a beginner as it contains a lot of features. Sometimes it's hard to find the required feature as it is a sea of features. Sometimes the Eclipse gets hanged as it gets heavy. Along with this, there may be some more dislikes for Eclipse or other people but I bet this is the best IDE for the Java development.
first, go through its all features overview once you get familiar with its User Interface you will really love this Eclipse IDE.
I used Eclipse for API handing of the EBX tool and adding Kafka microservices to it. Along with I built the JUnit class and done the SonarQube static code analysis.
I use Maven and spring boot framework for Java application development and uses JSON for data passing over Eclipse.
I have learned a lot and grown up my Java knowledge with this Eclipse, once I thought let's try Netbeans but after few days I switched back to Eclipse as it is more user friendly and I love it's User Interface.
1) Eclipse is very simple to use that makes it first choice for programmer who start with coding.
2) Eclipse has very large number and variety of plugins in it's marketplace which makes the work of developer very easy and that's what makes it one of the favorite IDE of experienced professionals also.
3) As it supports most of the project types, developer need not to have multiple IDE for different type of projects. Like maven projects, spring project, spring boot project can run on it very easily just after installing a simple plugin.
4) As it's fanbase is huge so soution for any kind of issue you face while working with it is easily available on sites like stackoverflow etc.
5) It has different perspectives to switch for different purposes like debug.
1) As it is very heavy IDE that's why many times on PCs with simple configuration it lags very much.
It's very good and easy to use tool. If you are looking for any IDE to work on backend technology specially Java then this is the one to go with. Also it has many plugins available in marketplace to make your work easy, only thing to see here is to identify which one you need.
I have worked on maven projects, spring projects, spring boot projects and have developed many microservices with the help of eclipse.
With just one click it lets you convert a normal project to maven and then again turn it back to normal by disabling maven which helped me a lot while dealing with jars.
There is different perspective for debug that makes it very easier to catch the cause of issue while debugging it. Similarly there are many other benefits that looks very small but makes life of developer easy.
Its market place where we have a large numbers of addon which changes it almost more than 100% and its UI
Sometime it continues to give error inspite we are having full liberary and jar files included for build.
It is the best in market to code for beginners and professionals both.
I am learning Java J2EE and practice by writing codes on daily basis.
For the microprocessor coding I would like write code in this software tool and it is very easy to set and understand and best software
Only one thing I did not like in this software tool is it will take some time to compile the application
Still now I did not get problem in the eclipse tool and benefit can write own code in this tool for microprocessor
Wide range of extensions, Code debugging
installation and initial setup are a bit confusing.
Coding in multiple languages with a single platform and cross-language integration.
Almost every Java developer uses eclipse for java programming, web applications, rest api etc. Best thing is it is free and open source. It has features like Auto-completion of code - perhaps the best feature, you don't need to recall all,
syntax checking - show syntax errors while writing code which really helps you out , refracting of code which all saves you lot of time and effort while writing code.
Error debugging is very easy, you can put breakpoints and then debug the code step by step very easily and also easily navigate to the error line, can add expressions in watchlist, see the data of variables in debugger console.
Many files can be opened at the same time, available on the same screen, similar files can be packaged easily in the packages. You can run code on localhost, or host your application on server by adding to it.
It has Eclipse marketplace which lets you download extra plugins for extra features.
Framework integration like Junit, spring mvc, springboot etc. can be done very easily.
SVN integration/git integration in eclipse is also a great feature. You can easily manage your project.
Some more languages support are required. There is no javascript debugger. Sometimes it take lot of time to import bigger projects or sometimes even opening the eclipse. Sometimes it is slow in responding, takes more memory.
SInce I have used eclipse for Java programming, so I can suggest only on this basis that it is great IDE for java programming and FREE. Its easy to use and embedded with multiple features as mentioned above.
