(Reviewed on 29 July 2019) "Goto Tool for Digital Design"

What do you like best?

Sketch very quickly allows designers to capture their ideas in a simple but powerful interface. The true power of Sketch is in the extensibility it has to other tools and workflows like InVision.

What do you dislike?

Sketch could use a bit more power in it's typographic tools. The paragraph styling is minimal and it is not comfortable to layout long form text on a page.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't hesitate in your adoption of Sketch! The learning curve is shallow. The tools will seem familiar and look to extend it with great plugins. Also, be sure to look to InVision for great workflows that you can use in your build and review cycles with clients and developers.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest challenge that Sketch successfully solves is the complexity of working with a distributed team of designers, clients, and managers. By creating a universal system of symbols, Sketch allows a team to share ideas while still maintaining consistency.

(Reviewed on 11 July 2019) "Sophisticated, robust tool with straight forward design and usability "

What do you like best?

Sketch has a wide range of capabilities while having a clean user interface that makes it usable for all levels. Despite having limited design experience I was able to pick up the tool fairly quickly for my basic needs and continue to learn more that makes more work even more sophisticated.

What do you dislike?

If there is internal animation the features are unclear. I would love to see more animation abilities to easily create carousel posts or gifs within the program. Right now I am making images within sketch and then using an external tool or css code on word press to create moving images.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take time to play around with it. There are a lot of features to learn but with more experience comes a higher level of understanding on how to best utilize the tool.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Artboards have allowed our team to keep imaging consistent across campaigns. We are able to make various artboard templates and have them ready accessible at all times. Sketch allows us to easily make our own imaging for things such as timelines flow charts. We can also make quick changes to images without having to call upon our graphic designers.

(Reviewed on 08 July 2019) "Simple and easy graphics software"

What do you like best?

Sketch is great for designing graphics and UI mockups from scratch. It’s intuitive, which I appreciate.

What do you dislike?

It has a limited tools set compared to illustrator. I especially wish it had live-trace functionality.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Give it a try.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It’s made me a better digital artist. The ease of use means I’m able to experiment.

(Reviewed on 02 July 2019) "Best app for UI Designer"

What do you like best?

The sketch is the best app for UI designer, and support many plugins, has feature library and symbol, and also integration to 3rd party app like zeplin, invision, avocode and many more

What do you dislike?

sometimes if the file is quite big and hundreds of artboards, the app force close.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Of course, this app is really badass, light, powerful, and support many 3rd party app and plugins

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

There is no monthly cost, one-time purchase for a year, even if you are a student you will get 3 years and get a 50% discount.

Many projects I had finished with sketch app.

(Reviewed on 25 June 2019) "Great for app and responsive design"

What do you like best?

This is great for quickly editing or creating a series of screens or visual components for an app!

What do you dislike?

It takes a long time for a designer to learn to use the shared library/repository syncing. I think if there is any way to may this more intuitive, that would be hugely helpful.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We created a custom UI kit and brand guidelines for our UI designs.

(Reviewed on 20 June 2019) "The best in web design"

What do you like best?

I have tried different apps for web design, but nothing compares to Sketch, it has all that others apps had, and with the plus that you can use plugins, thats something, none of the competitors of this app has.

I think the only bad thing about sketch, is that the files are a heavy.

What do you dislike?

The only thing bad about it is, that the files .sketch are so heavy

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The plugins part is the best thing about sketch, there is plugins for a lot of things, you can create fake text, fake names, pictures or you can use invision plugins, to create prototypes easier

(Reviewed on 17 June 2019) "A great, comprehensive, easy-to-use mockup software"

What do you like best?

While Sketch is very easy to pick up for beginners, it has a wide variety of plugins and additional features that make it a joy to use for experienced professionals.

Their approach to Symbol and Style management is intuitive and simplifies management of complex style guides.

Built-in cloud sharing is quite useful and the implementation is much better than that of Invision.

What do you dislike?

Lack of a windows client is a major limitation since many co-workers use windows it would be great if they were at least able to edit the text in sketch files.

Additional functionality for developer handover similar to Zeplin or Invision would be great if it were part of the cloud side.

Using a .cloud domain for the cloud sharing feature limits the usefulness of this as many enterprises block the URL based on the use of 'cloud' keyword as part of their security policy.

Built-in version management would be a useful addition.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We created a comprehensive design system for our internal products, simplified and speeded up the mockup process as well as simplifying the developer handover.

Sketch is very easy to use and convenient. Definitely a big step up from Photoshop

(Reviewed on 08 June 2019) "An excellent tool for a design team or personal"

What do you like best?

Sketch is fast and is always making new updates. Component building is easy and distributing them through libraries is even easier. It is an excellent tool for a distributed team who is implementing a design system or working on a style guide. The added features for prototyping and presenting are nice too.

What do you dislike?

While there are updates constantly there are also weird behaviors and bugs that are far too common. Simple things like overriding symbols needed months to get right and it caused a lot of problems for our designers dealing with the quirks.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Designing interfaces with rapid iteration, prototyping those designs and modifying based on feedback. Building a design system from the ground up to distribute via a library for a distributed team of designers.

(Reviewed on 07 June 2019) "Sketch is a tool that I use every day"

What do you like best?

The best part of Sketch is the large number of available add-ons that add very useful functionality to the tool. The software is also very easy to use, allowing anyone to pick it up in a few hours. The tools are clear and presented in a very clean and logical way. The learning curve was pronounced when making the transition from Adobe products, but once you can align your mindset with Sketch's workflow, you can move quickly.

What do you dislike?

Sketch is still very dependent on third-party add-ons to handle tasks well. The fact that Sketch is Mac only makes it very limited in use in corporations with mixed Mac / PC environments. Since macOS can not be virtualized on a PC, and there is no PC version, further adoption of Sketch requires capital expenditure requests for Mac.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Sketch works perfectly, no matter what. I think performance is one of the best aspects of Sketch. Unlike other design tools I've used in the past, Sketch works well even when I have several programs running or when I'm designing many screens. In addition, the user interface for the sketch makes the learning curve minimal. Once you master the workflow, you can achieve some pretty advanced things.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use Sketch mainly to develop web design prototypes. I know it's not particularly suitable for illustration or printing, but it's so nice to use. Its simplicity helps designers to concentrate on "design", and with the implementations of symbols and libraries, we can now work very easily with repeated components that are vital to the design of the product.
