(Reviewed on 09 May 2018) "Lumapps makes Google Simple"

What do you like best?

I love that lumapps makes using google for my business so simple and easy to navigate, all my employees love it and it makes things very easy to comprehend and for my employees to collaborate together.

What do you dislike?

The price is a bit high for my budget but the software is amazingly simple and easy to use. I don't like how hard it can be to setup though.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Lumapps allows me to stay connected with all my employees in one central location that is easy to access and communicate on. It benefits my business by allowing communication to flow without a second thought

(Reviewed on 01 October 2019) "Hassle-free content management "

What do you like best?

LumApps is very simple to use and I like the fact that you can customise your webpage by choosing the elements you want to add. It’s very easy to go back into a page if you need to edit something. Uploading images and adding links etc is also straightforward.

What do you dislike?

When using a voting system, it goes up and down, so you only ever see the overall result, and not the number of people who have voted.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It’s far superior to Adobe CQ5 in terms of how fast and easy it is to create and edit content. It’s also great that it uses Google login.

(Reviewed on 29 November 2020) "Its interface and ease of use is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about LumApps"

What do you like best?

Its interface and ease of use is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about LumApps, the fact that I can establish the guidelines to communicate with my employees and create simple web pages in a short period of time is perfect for me to exploit all the potentialities of my business, the fact that it is an application that has the endorsement of Google is something that gives it a great plus, since it already puts at our disposal all the tools that the Google suite offers us, the team Customer service is quite fast when responding to any request for information or technical support that is sent to them, regardless of the date or time you can be sure that they will respond to you as soon as possible

What do you dislike?

The live page editor despite being a very useful tool, also turns out to be quite inefficient, since it constantly lives slowing down for no reason, in addition to the fact that to do any type of customization, no matter how simple it may be. I have to resort to CSS is a shame

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It has allowed us to perform a large number of tasks within our company in a fairly simple way, allowing us to perform internal navigations within a private network to share files and documents in a much faster, easier and more secure way and mainly (and the option that we have given the most use these days) has allowed us to create an ideal digital workspace to make our pages and informative websites in a fairly simple, simple and powerful way.

(Reviewed on 25 April 2018) "Good tool , fast to implement with space to improve."

What do you like best?

the support and that there is a free and a trial version so anyone can evaluate if it fits to the needs. it is easy to admin users and is google based . The mobile integration are good too. it is fast and easy to deploy . the search engine and the capacity of supporting multi-language are great for large companies , it help us to reduce the time searching for content in old emails

What do you dislike?

there is no integrated chat, and not too much people capable in the market to take full advantage. there is some disconfort wih the client about using google accounts and google technologies at all , the privacy of the data was the more recursive question

Recommendations to others considering the product:

consider all the company needs and check if the tool fulfills those needs before implementing. keep in mind that this is based on google technologies so there are some questioning about security of the data and all that . is a very good platform easy to implement but more than the software it requires some management work to comunicate all the benefits and take advantage of it so i really recomend selling this to desicion makers on the company and work from that level to avoid as possible that the user abandon the tool

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

posting news, policy management , directory and calendar are the most used capabilities, we start looking at a knowledge base too

it helps the company to centralize content in a secured platform

(Reviewed on 04 April 2019) "Good platform for a very specific usecase"

What do you like best?

Builds right on top of Google apps, so if you're company is heavily invested and doesn't have an expansive Intranet already, it makes sense to build off this mixture of a social and collaborative Intranet workspace.

What do you dislike?

Heavily reliant on Google Apps, so if you ever decide to change you'll need to think about how to migrate away from Google. The pages it creates are fairly simple, and won't easily allow for more complex work. This could be an asset if this is largely intended to be a self serve platform, but you will need to come up with solutions if you're asked to do anything more complex than a blog-type site.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We evaluated this as an internet replacement or augmentation, because our company is becoming more reliant on G suite.

(Reviewed on 26 April 2018) "An excellent portal for the delegation of responsibilities in any organization."

What do you like best?

What I like most about this platform is that it facilitates communication in the work teams. with a simple interface, clean and easy to use and learn. excellent for novice users.

What do you dislike?

What I do not like very much is that it has some limitations of space in terms of free accounts. You can improve in this aspect for accounts of small or independent companies.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend to any company that wants a platform to improve the communication of the organization this service widely, it is great and very easy to use.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

thanks to this application we have a more optimal control of all the responsibilities in our organization, it allows us to have a greater capacity of response keeping the company together and integrated.

What do you like best?

General ease of use and the potential is there for a lot of success if there was ever any good execution. So many good concepts: post-approval workflows, communities/project spaces, templates, dynamic lists for content and personalized content views, mobile app. Heavy Google integration and easy widget building.

What do you dislike?

All of those things I stated above never execute. Approval workflows are great! Except the content isn't locked during approval/review, nor does it save continuously (no undo buttons, its 2018 for gods sake) so when an approver takes a look and recommends edits, it could be 2 versions behind or just not save completely. Communities are great tools, but moderation tools are lacking. Personalized content is great, except even their own engineers don't really understand the difference between tags and metadata other than some needless segmentation of site vs. content. The search engine is often our most heavily utilized tool, its however so unprecise it's more of an obstruction in most cases. Having to spell items exactly as they appear in content titles or HTML content widgets, unsure of how the engine ranks relevance for results as they appear.

They brandish the power of how visually striking and appealing the intranet can be, but don't be fooled, thats not out of the box. Additionally, their management of images and media is too limited, I'm constantly re-uploading the same image to the "Library" because it takes extremely too long to find the original upload. Inside of the HTML widgets, I'm also fairly limited in how I can present my images and text.

Templates are great! Except they only control so much and not all widgets work with templates, meaning templates in general are useless. I can tell someone hey theres template to write a block of text and put up an image but if you want to add links or attachments, good luck.

The worst thing is they're really trying, but they're too young. Someone realized this CMS couldn't hold up in the marketplace against joomla, wordpress, or other tools and decided to try and salvage it as an intranet platform. Which would be great except its more of a CMS and less of an intranet tool. Until they figure that out instead of coming up with new ways to sell this same old product I'd stay away. You're better off paying a developer to give you exactly what you need or trying something like Papyrus, Interact, or Claromentis.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Discuss what you need your intranet to accomplish in year 1, odds are your organization (unless its full of 25-year-olds) will need a change management plan to start using this effectively. Know that it looks like this all-inclusive toolbox in the beginning but it requires a lot of fine-tuning and planning to get it even close to what's advertised. Its Google integrations are strong, but still lacking, and unexplainably far behind Google's update pace. Widgets are both the strong suit and an unreasonably crippling weak point at times for this product. The visual appearance is well built and clean, very helpful for initial onboarding/adoption. I just wished the mobile experience was actually responsive, it's up to a point but items disappear on certain screens with no explanation as to why.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using LumApps for basic intranet needs: single source of truth for organizational documents and policies, updating employees through news posts, providing room for collaboration, providing employee contact opportunities through directory modules, providing workspaces to start your day.

(Reviewed on 22 June 2018) "There are many better options out there..."

What do you like best?

I thought, "This is by Google for G-Suite, it has to be amazing!" and quickly found many kinks to be ironed out.

What do you dislike?

I personally ran into too many errors which disrupted my work flow again and again, finding it to be largely useless. The human connection and customer service just isn't there.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Anything created by Google is of course, very exciting and clean in appearance. I have to say, this one needs some work and there are better intranet solutions on the market. I won't say that it's a total loss though! I have too much invested in Google to go that direction. Try waiting until there's a big update in the app or until you've tested other systems out there for this purpose. I think you'll be happy you took the time to explore.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Currently, I'm not solving any problems in my business with the LumApps for G Suite. It should be an easy to use, easy to deploy, powerful intranet, though it isn't that way.

(Reviewed on 02 April 2020) "Worst platform ever"

What do you like best?

I don't like anything about LumApps, I honestly can't find a single redeeming quality for this software.

What do you dislike?

Where do I start... First off, it's an intranet blogging platform, yet the editing features are so weak and lacking the best my company can come up with is editing your blog post in GDocs and copy/paste it into a LumApps post. Formatting is terrible, it doesn't auto-resize to your screen resolution, it's impossible to copy/paste code blocks without hacking up HTML. AND the company seems to be completely disconnected from our deployment and as far as I see could care less about the issues we've identified. I do not know how or why we settled on this horrible application. Run fast from this solution!

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Do not, if at all possible use this app, it is the worst application I believe I have ever used. I'm not sure how we got stuck with it, but I'm quite sure I will never use something as terrible as LumApps

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Editing, searching, formatting, the migration from Jive to LumApps was horrid, and support is absolutely terrible.
