What are the best aspects of this product?
It offers great customization once you implement it into your system. I have been using it for almost 10 years and I can tell you that it has become of huge help in terms of recruitment processes. It is possible to edit fields, reports and customize workflows the way you want or with respect to your requirements. This makes your work easier as you can build an internal system that is tailored for your system needs. It is also easy to access from wherever you are since it is a cloud based platform. For the control functionality, you can choose who to add or who to remove from the system which gives you better admin functionalities. The job library works fine to keep our job descriptions updated all the time for our candidates.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Although highly customizable, it does not provide that for windows pop-ups. It would be better if there was an improvement on this to make the tool even better in terms of functionality. It is also not easy to get rid of or delete fields that are no longer in use. For example, if you create a field and then after sometime you no longer need it, you cannot delete it. It only provides for you to hide it. The complexity of the tool can be too much for a newcomer. Due to this, you will be required to hire an expert in managing updates within the system. It is also not intuitive when integrating with Outlook which is a major drawback on our part.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
It has become a great workflow management tool for our recruitment processes. We are able to track the sources, recruiters and candidates who apply for the jobs we have put up. This form of management of workflow makes us to optimize our resources in sources that bring in a higher flow of candidates for the jobs we post. As a result, we are able to utilize our scarce resources to get maximum resources. For example, during the year 2015, we only had 10 recruiters and out of that we were able to hire 681 people. This was impressive and it could not have been possible without iCIMS with 10 recruiters.
