What is ForgeMD and how does it work?
ForgeMD is an AI-powered collaborative content creation platform where WYSIWYG and Markdown work as two live views of the same document — edit in either pane and both stay synchronized instantly. Built by Synami, a team with 20+ years in software and 6M+ users worldwide, ForgeMD serves developers, technical writers, and product teams who want the portability of plain-text Markdown with the accessibility of rich-text editing. Teams co-edit documents in real time with live cursors, inline comments, tracked changes, and role-based permissions across desktop, web, and mobile. The editor supports GFM tables, task lists, footnotes, math notation, frontmatter, and Mermaid/UML diagrams that render live as you type. ForgeMD is local-first: documents are cached on-device with encrypted storage, keep full functionality offline, and sync conflict-free when you reconnect. Bring your own AI — connect multiple providers to draft, enhance, and generate diagrams inside the document, or switch AI off entirely. Export to PDF, HTML, DOCX, LaTeX, EPUB, and ODT, with extended formats via Pandoc integration. Plans start at $8–12 per user/month with a 5-day free trial, no credit card required.
