Shopify Plus is a flexible and robust app! It has so many amazing characteristics and features such as the following: (1) 24/7 support; (2) optimized app assembly; (3) quick and modern server; (4) has REST and GraphQL API; and (5) really affordable!

Shopify doesn't allow so many customizations for bigger e-commerce stores. I also recently find support less helpful as they become more scripted in dealing with users.

The backend is very simple to use but mostly the addition of all of the available apps allows you to really make a website your own without having to get too deep into customization and developer charges.
It can be rather clunky and slow. It's not always the fastest website and pages don't rank as well as you'd like them to. From an SEO standpoint, it's not perfect, but it is the best,

Customizing your setup, especially for scaling businesses, is prohibitively difficult. You're encouraged to use it out of the box.
Most of our business is run through Shopify Plus. We manage inventory, sell product, and run reports. As I mentioned previously, we can do this all with minimal technical resources internally and can rely on their platform & support to do most of the heavy lifting for us with minimal downtime.
We use Shopify Plus to manage multiple storefronts, and it's great. Definitely worth it, and we get a lot out of the premium support as well.
It would be nice to more easily move between our stores, and many software integrations/apps aren't yet supporting Shopify Plus multiple storefronts, so you have to pick which account to integrate.
Probably worth it if you are running into limits of a regular Shopify plan. Definitely take advantage of the priority support and build a relationship with your account manager to get good guidance on how to grow.
