"A great learning management system"

What do you like best?

Love the ease of use and tabs on the left side menu. Can also sort the grades section by date to use like a calendar. This section also allows you to enter 'what if' grades to calculate what the final grade would be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes not all the homework due dates show up in the calendar and sometimes completion is not shown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A great place to have all classes together and have all the classes use the same format headings on the left side. Also has email, calendar, dashboard, and links to external websites. Puts all organizing and timeliness tools in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easiest LMS so far!"

What do you like best?

It is user friendly for students and faculty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Testing options leave a lot to be desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Explore. Ask questions. Use Commons. Integrate. Communicate. It's good stuff. Download the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The app is great, calendar feature is wonderful, the modules and layout are great. Grading is easier. The integration with publisher software is phenomenal. The tech support has been fantastic. Teaching from home with Canvas has been a lot smoother than with Moodle. I've taught Canvas in a traditional setting and I've taught Moodle in a traditional setting. I've taught both in a COVID setting. Canvas, hands down, is easier. Testing with Proctorio isn't great. I prefer the Respondus browser, but I don't think testing in a COVID setting is optimal no matter what you do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Online Learning Simplicity"

What do you like best?

What I like the best about Canvas is how user friendly the system is. The courses are available immediately on the Dashboard upon logging in - no need to search around trying to find the appropriate classroom. The student's Dashboard will split courses by semester/segments for easier sorting. The staff are able to maneuver throughout the program and access assignments and grades with ease. The students have the inbox available for contacting teachers in an efficient manner and with just a few clicks - no need to access an outside email server. The course information is simple to follow through and can be guided with minimal clicks. Student's can provide access codes to parents for the parents to have observer accounts to monitor their student's progress. It's an all around, user friendly system with wonderful tech support resources! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

A downside to Canvas would be that it does have such a simple interface that complex uploads may not make Canvas beneficial to use. You also cannot connect through live video resources and must use an alternate program to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

During these unprecedented times, Canvas has been a wonderful resource for students to continue their education and participate in class. It has been beneficial for students to have one place to access their courses. Previously, our District utilized Focus and while it has wonderful benefits, it was not best utilized for the posting and uploading of assignments. Canvas makes this more simplified for the students and is a better resource for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Canvas- All you need in on place"

What do you like best?

I've used it primarily in college. It has features where you can email everyone all at once or selected individuals. It also has features where you can create groups for projects and follow up with them. You can post alerts on the calendar for deadlines too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

If you are the host or instructor it does have glitches sometimes but there tech team is phenomenal and can help you along the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Team organization and management. It helps hold people accountable for their work. It's a great tool to see the progress from each student and how to work with each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Free for individual teachers and looks cleaner than Moodle. setup is easy and there is a great online community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use Platform for Organizing Classes and Coursework"

What do you like best?

Canvas allows ease of use for universities to organize coursework and classes. Professors can set up different categories of expectations, such as online assignments, quizzes, exams, downloadable material, and the syllabus. Canvas also allows students to calculate and see their grades in real-time and professors can add a plagiarism extension when students submit work so that scans their submissions. Canvas also allows a chat and discussion feature so students can post questions or simulate a forum for discussing different assignments or general questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There is no search feature so it can be hard to search for a particular document or assignment just by scanning through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It allows all classes for a program to be stored in one central location which makes it easier on both professors and students. It allows for notifications to be sent out so students know when updates or changes have been made or new assignments have been added or graded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great For College Students"

What do you like best?

What I like best about Canvas is the customizable interface. I get to organize my classes the way I want to and color coordinate them. I also really appreciate how easy it is to use the platform. When it comes to seeing my grades I like that I am able test scores to predict what my grade will be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I personally don't see anything wrong with canvas, the only downside is when professors don't know how to use to to it's full potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

With most schoolwork being online and digital it makes it easy to have all of my classes in one place. It also makes it easier for both the students and professors to assign/ turn in assignments, get grades, and communicate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I strongly like that you can compartmentalize assignments so easily. Assignments are sorted by class, type, and due date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My only complaint is that work becomes more difficult to view once you are no longer enrolled in the class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Canvas has allowed students to view assignments, and submit them, electronically. This is especially crutial during the COVID epidemic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
