What is AnimGen and how does it work?
AnimGen is a browser-based AI animation tool for indie game developers, artists, and small studios. It turns a single character image into 2D motion previews that can be reviewed and exported as game assets. Upload character artwork and describe an action such as running, jumping, or attacking. Review the generated motion in the timeline, select the useful frames, and adjust playback timing before export. The supported Alpha Key workflow prepares transparent animation assets; motion quality, edges, and loop transitions still need visual review. Export options include PNG frame sequences, sprite sheets with metadata, transparent video formats, and engine-specific packs for Unity, Godot 4, Unreal Paper2D, Cocos Creator, and Construct 3. For custom workflows, AnimGen provides a public beta asynchronous API and an OAuth-based remote MCP server for compatible AI clients. These use the same account credits as the web app. Eligible verified new accounts receive a limited free trial. Monthly subscriptions and one-time credit packs are available. Generation consumes credits, and advanced export formats and commercial use require paid entitlement.
