Sherlock helps SaaS businesses to find product qualified leads, convert them, and retain them. In order to use the tool users need to sign up first. Post the sign-up process, they can connect their Segment account or use the provided API. Users need to create an engagement score and define the activation criteria. They can start scoring product engagement by ranking individual events based on the level of importance. It's also needed to set up an account activation checklist in Sherlock, after which activation rates will be displayed as a percentage such that the higher it is, the more likely it is that the user has a product qualified lead. Users can also access a list of their users and accounts ranked by engagement level, drill down to individual profiles, and find out which accounts are PQLs. The identified leads can then be sent to their existing workflows via integrations with Slack, Salesforce, and Intercom.

"Great Tool for User and Account insights for SAAS businesses"

What do you like best?

I like that we can set up scoring profiles very quickly based on existing events and properties for BOTH Accounts and Users. The other awesome addition is that it handles Account and User activation separately.

What do you dislike?

They are adding features quickly based on feedback so when we have any issue usually they solve it in a reasonable time frame.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have a stack with Appcues / Hubspot and we had issues to identify the different user segments in a consistent way. Now we can set up the profile in Sherlock and all tools using the same profiles and segments.

"Must-have insights for a SaaS business"

What do you like best?

Having an at-a-glance overview of both account and user-based engagement with a smart scoring system (that you can influence), and also having these insights when it comes to activation and product adoption. Also loving their brand new Sherlock stories feature. Also loving the Intercom connection.

What do you dislike?

We still have to set up the alerts part of Sherlock, so it's mostly up to us to get more out of this feature, but it would be great to have some default alerts ready there that you can customize, so it's less work.

They have a Salesforce connection, but as we use Zendesk Sell as CRM, we would obviously to have a connection for our CRM as well.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of the activation of our trial accounts and the engagement of our customers.

"Sherlock is amazing!"

What do you like best?

Sherlock is a fantastic CRM tool, it is so user-friendly and has a great interface!

What do you dislike?

Sherlock takes a bit to configure and make it look pretty and easy to use

Just make sure that you have individuals who can dedicate time to set up and configure the platform

Sherlock helps visualize the activity that users are working on within the platform, sometimes it's easy to think that people are engaged but in reality, they may be only doing one thing within a platform

"Innovative way to track user engagement"

What do you like best?

I like how they approach user engagement tracking and how flexible you can get. And I love the direction they are going with Sherlock.

What do you dislike?

They seem to be doing too many things at once, but we have a similar approach ourselves at Survicate and it is starting to pay off.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Sherlock to track user engagement and product adaptation on an account level. Scores are associated with Intercom and we automate communication and tasks based on them.

What do you like best?

The simplification of creating an engagement score across users and accounts has helped our product team communicate user engagement across the company.

What do you dislike?

The event model is too simple to support all our different types of events. Specifically, you can't configure a score based event properties which would be super helpful to build the most accurate score for us.

Sherlock mostly strikes a great balance between usability, functionality, and usefulness. Their insights are unlike anything we've seen, and help us accurately identify users based on their interactions with our SaaS app. Their support is fantastic, with a team ready to help with any questions.

What do you dislike?

While it gets 90% of the way there, there's still a few bugs and things missing. They're making progress though, and are on the right track.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sherlock lets us identify which users are succeeding in our trial and which need assistance. For our subscribed users, we can see which users and teams are our best users which is information that feeds our marketing and sales efforts. We can also see which users which might be at risk of churning, which ties in with our retention strategy.
