PATANYX is a Rust-based desktop browser for Windows and Linux, developed by EdgeXene. Its slogan, “Leave less behind,” reflects the thinking behind it: transparency, local control, and protection people can verify, with an honest account of what no browser can hide. PATANYX sends no browsing history, search terms, usage analytics, or crash reports to EdgeXene. There is one caveat: as the About page explains, “on Windows, Microsoft's WebView2 engine reports a minimum of component health data that no application is allowed to switch off.” Fingerprint Divergence, enabled by default and permanently free, adds noise to selected browser signals to make them less useful for fingerprinting—the practice of recognizing a browser through the details it exposes to websites. It does not make anyone invisible. The browser’s source code is publicly available at https://github.com/EdgeXene/patanyx under the Apache-2.0 license. The source policy sets a clear boundary: browser-side privacy and security mechanisms are open source and auditable, while commercial backend services and deployment infrastructure remain proprietary. The public repository includes the ad and tracker blocker, network freeze and privacy ledger, encrypted vault and session store, page integrity checks, signed update and blocklist clients, Private Tunnel client, and on-device OCR for extracting text from images. PATANYX Premium has been available since version 1.0.0. A single payment covers a fixed term, with no account required and no automatic renewal. Each license supports up to five devices, and the first activation requires an internet connection. Premium features are included in the standard public build and unlocked with a license.
