Review Summary

Blender is a powerful, open-source 3D modeling and animation software praised for its extensive features and free accessibility. Users consistently highlight its versatility, covering a broad range of tasks from basic modeling to complex animations and rendering. While Blender is lauded for its robust capabilities and active community support, a steep learning curve and occasionally complex user interface pose challenges for beginners. Performance issues can arise with large projects or lower-end hardware, requiring users to invest in more powerful computers. Despite these drawbacks, Blender remains a popular choice for both professionals and enthusiasts seeking a free and powerful 3D solution.

Pros

  • Blender is a free opensource software, providing accessibility to all.
  • Offers a comprehensive set of tools for 3D modeling, animation, and rendering.
  • Has a large and active community, making learning and finding resources easier.
  • The software is constantly updated with new features and improvements.

Cons

  • Blender's interface can be overwhelming for beginners, requiring time to learn.
  • Performance can slow down when working with large or complex projects.
  • The software is not always compatible with other 3D software, making collaboration challenging.
  • While Blender continues to improve, it's not considered the industry standard.

Revolutionized Our 3D Modeling Workflow
What do you like best about Blender?I like how fast you can go from an idea to a model and then put it into a game engine. Blender offers the freedom to fix anything from the weights, the bones, the UVs, to the topology. I have the ability to mirror geometry, weights, and animations, and I really like the sculpting tools for blocking out shapes. Blender provides a very clean export pipe for Unity and Unreal Engine. It never limits you, and the community and the amount of tutorials is massive. There's a lot of really nice add-ons, and I like the ability of having add-ons and being able to do everything in one app. What do you dislike about Blender? It's got a pretty steep learning curve. There's a lot to it and a lot of different things to learn. There could be cleaner FBX export settings, as setting up exports can be challenging. The controls are a little different compared to most editors. Better default weight painting tools are needed due to weight transfer and bone heat errors. What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?I use Blender to create custom 3D models without needing expensive 3D software licenses. It solves problems like retopology, UV unwrapping, rigging, and exporting. Blender supports many files and offers VFX simulations, effectively replacing a costly tool pipeline for game development.

A Versatile, Feature-Packed Open-Source Powerhouse with Great Performance
What do you like best about Blender? The versatility, along with the sheer number of functions and features, really stands out. It’s a great example of open source done right. UI is slightly confusing at times but when you get used to it its quick and easy. Its integration to other software through plugins is good and the performance is really good even on low end systems. The software is free and is supported by people who love the software. There are endless YouTube videos and websites which teach blender although the official tutorials are pretty lackluster. What do you dislike about Blender?Complexity and learning curve. The over cramming of features etc. What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you? It's letting me create architectural renders without paying a premium and im here for it

Powerful, Free, and Flexible—Blender Does It All in One Modern Workflow
What do you like best about Blender? What I like best about Blender is how powerful and flexible it is while still being free to use. The interface feels modern, and once you get used to it, the workflow becomes really smooth for modeling, animation, rendering, and even video editing. I also like the huge community around Blender because there are so many tutorials, add-ons, and helpful forums available online. It has improved my workflow by letting me do almost everything in one software instead of switching between multiple programs. The performance of the software is also Industry standard with the in-built integrations of other software like sculpting and modelling is also very helpful. Now, in this modern era the use of AI is becoming more and more effective as it solves most issues fast and has a higher chance of the project to be more pristine. What do you dislike about Blender? One thing I dislike about Blender is that the learning curve can feel overwhelming for beginners, mainly because there are so many tools and shortcuts to remember. On top of that, some features and menus can seem a bit cluttered, especially when I’m working on larger projects and trying to find what I need quickly. I’ve also noticed that certain add-ons or renders can slow performance on lower-end systems, which can make the workflow feel less smooth. Even with these drawbacks, I still think Blender is one of the best all-in-one creative tools available. What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?Blender helps me create 3D models, animations, and other visual content without needing multiple expensive software tools. Before I started using Blender, managing different parts of a project across separate applications took extra time and often slowed down my workflow. With Blender, I can do modeling, texturing, rendering, and editing all in one place, which saves time and makes me more productive. It has also helped me reduce costs while still delivering professional-quality results for my creative projects.

Power-Packed, Easy-to-Use Free 3D Software with Great Community Support
What do you like best about Blender? It’s a power-packed yet simple piece of software. It’s very easy to use, with a great interface and plenty of tools to work with. It can integrate with websites like Meshy or Tripo, etc., and it has been a great performance booster thanks to multiple render engines. It’s also impressive that it’s free and open source; because it’s free, the community support is really strong compared to other 3D software. there is no AI support in blender but since its open source can integrate with other AI models. What do you dislike about Blender? There isn’t much to dislike overall, but I think the software would be even better with AI . there is no Intelligence for self corrections etc or suggestions. but AI intelligence option could have been betterWhat problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?I’m a 3D artist, and it’s been really helpful for creating 3D environments. Since I’m a freelancer, the fact that it’s open source is a great thing for me.

Simplifies 3D Modeling and Animation Effortlessly
What do you like best about Blender?I really enjoy working with Blender for its simple interface. The geometry nodes give a magical touch to turn any object realistic with material and color options. The UV wrap and modifications are simpler and more efficient than most 3D software available. I particularly love the render engine cycle. Its features allow unlimited options for creating art, animation, and gaming assets. Most of the time, when I am unable to visualize the design, Blender helps me make it real. The initial setup was very easy. What do you dislike about Blender? Recommendations to others considering Blender?I WORK AS FREELANCER 3D DESIGNER I DO NOT WORK FOR ANY COMPANY.What problems is Blender solving and how is that benefiting you?As of now as a beginner, I am happy with it but I guess there are issues I face which could be simplified, like UV wrap and geometry nodes.
