What do you like best about Zoho Expense?

For employee reimbursement, business travel expense tracking, and submitting expenses for review as part of monthly financial reporting, I use Zoho Expense. The receipt-scanning feature is especially handy because it reduces human input—no more formatting numbers for spreadsheets or doing as much manual data entry for financial reporting—and it makes it easy to verify transaction amounts against the attached scans. I also appreciate the expense categorization and the ability to track submitted expenses, approval statuses, and review expense reports all in one place, instead of going through multiple rounds of emails and spreadsheets.

What do you dislike about Zoho Expense?

Certain reports require a bit of filtering and exporting before I can get to the specific level of detail I need for finance reporting. Setting up expense policies, approval rules, and accounting categories can also take a while at the start, especially when different areas handle things differently. I’d really like the option to create report templates for different types of expenses, and then be able to adapt those templates easily as needed.

What problems is Zoho Expense solving and how is that benefiting you?

On getting receipts, auditing reimbursed claims and consolidating employee expenditure, spreadsheets, and spread across many systems. With expenses and approvers all in one place, it's easier to match transactions, spot outliers and prepare monthly reports. It also smooths things out among our finance team, employees, and managers, and makes the reimbursement cycle more transparent, freeing me up to spend less time on such mundane administrative tasks and more on reviewing budgets, tracking expenditure patterns, and helping out on our financial planning.

Easy to upload my expenses and pull reports for my accountant at year end

It forces me, as a self-employed person, to submit a report and ask for reimbursement. I want to use it for expense tracking and my companies write offs / expenses. I am not reimbursing myself. If I could enter my year-end, it would automatically submit to that year-end based on the receipt date.

What do you like best about Zoho Expense?

Zoho Expense is super easy to use on the go, especially with autoscan. Reimbursements for staff are easy to process and match with a couple of clicks, individual budgets are easy to setup and show users - ensuring everyone is on the same page. We have Expense integrated with Zoho Books, which is instantly synced and super easy to set up. Zoho is quick to respond and help out when we have any issues or feature requests.

What do you dislike about Zoho Expense?

Some little details are missing or clunky when setting up automations and rules for different users.

What problems is Zoho Expense solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are able to approve travel and expense requests for our sales and admin staff, as well as record and process reimbursements much quicker than we did with Xero. We are also able to track and manage spending on company cards daily, ensuring we can see where and why money is being spent.
