I like the ease of booking all of my necessary travel in one place. I am able to gather information about places that are new to me. I have not traveled for business in many years and Navan has made it super simple to do what I need to do in a timely fashion. I appreciate the ease with which I am able to check-in for flights and check into rooms. I also appreciate the flexibility and how simple it is to make changes.
I have been told my coworkers who check against other travel platforms that the rates are sometimes not comparable. It would be good to show competitor rates.
Just try it!
Time is money. I save time with Navan I have also enjoyed the ease with which plans can be made. The time I save allows me to focus on my other tasks.
I love how easy to add expenses through the mobile app. The receipt scan feature is a lifesaver and enables us to save enormous time.
Adding tax details to the expense transactions is confusing and usually open to errors. I mostly had to use "transaction has no taxes" option for my expenses. Since the error definitions are not directive in Layman's terms, I would suggest focusing on some improvements for this feature for a better user experience.
I use Navan for managing expenses regularly. Also, use it for business trip planning although rare.
On the expense management side, it is very user-friendly and time-saving. But, I must highlight that I only use the mobile app for this purpose. Haven't tried the desktop version, and frankly never needed to. I believe this also shows how good the mobile app is.
On the travel management side, having both transportation and accommodation options in one place is a nice user experience for me. I also find Navan's personalized recommendations on point according to the company policy, rewards optimization, etc. I'm someone who checks all options while planning a travel regardless of being a business or leisure trip. When we first started using Navan for travel planning, I have been seeing inconsistent pricing with similar products, especially for flights. However, I believe this problem has been resolved so far. I have always seen consistent and on-point pricing lately.
- Navan has both a web as well as a mobile interface, which makes it very convenient for booking trips, and filing expenses on the go.
- Scanning features have improved in the past, and I see the details are captured accurately most of the time.
- I use Navan (previously Trip Actions) almost every month, for my personal and business trips.
If there is one area of improvement, I would recommend an offline GPS support. There are times wherein I have been left stranded during international trips, and since I was yet to purchase an international sim card, I couldn't get help in the true need of the hour.
I am being ambitious while I call this out, but I know this is something the future holds for many organization.
We have an enterprise license with Navan, and I like the security part of the travel card the most.
I like that I can do just about everything trip-related in one place, but my absolute favorite thing about Navan is how easy it makes submitting expenses. Having used things like Oracle Financials to painfully submit expenses, then photocopy recipts and so on, this is about as close as you can get to pain-free. I used to be slow about submitting expenses because I would procrastinate due to the pain. I find myself still procrastinating out of habit, and then asking myself "why did you put this off, it is so easy?!"
Scanning receipts doesn't always produce the correct info, but you can't correct all the scraped fields (e.g. the actual amount on the reciept).
Trip expense policies make it easy to know if a particular flight or hotel is out of bounds, which is very nice. Booking travel saves me from searching multiple sites, and depending on the trip it auto-generates the expense request. How great is that?
By far, the best part about Navan is its' ease of use. Planning a trip, whether it be personal or business related is extremely easy. Finding trip related documentation is simple and it's all organized in one spot. Tracking expenses is a simple as taking a photo of the receipt and uploading it...no more expense reports!
I have yet to encounter anything that I dislike...even both platforms of use (desktop & mobile) are easy to use!
Travel Planning: The workflow of the travel process ensures you don't miss something (airfare, lodging, transportation). Finding confirmations or any other documentation is a breeze!
Expense Tracking: Charge corporate card, Take a photo of receipt, upload it to the app once the charge appears. It's really that easy...no expense report required! (at least at my organziation)
NAVAN is easy to use. I like that their mobil app is not only easy to use but at my fingertips 24/7. Also the few times I had questions the customer support was quick and responsive to help me out. I do use the app monthly for planning my business trips. Overal the switch over to NAVAN has been great and the newer features work well. The integration and ease of the implementation of the old features to NAVANs new platform has been a pleasant suprise.
Thank you NAVAN.
I have not had any bad experiences yet with the NAVAN platform.
I have used the site for both business and personal and NAVAN help me keep them organized. The alerts on my calendar are helpful too so I am reminded what is upcoming.
Everything on your travel itinerary is conveniently located on one platform, on one application. You can make changes to flights, cancel a rental car, or extend your stay at a hotel all from the Navan app. The rewards are very easy to earn on hotels and rental cars, and it helps save the company money, too. I use it every time I book a business trip.
Rewards are only earned for hotels and rental cars (and sometimes the rental car rewards aren't even available). Adding the ability to earn rewards for flights would greatly improve the incentive for using Navan, and increase the potential for cost savings, as the flights are typically the largest expense of a business trip.
Having multiple bookings through different websites and trying to keep track of all the travel plans. The company I work for is very small (fewer than 50 employees), so we don't have a dedicated travel management admin. Navan makes booking my own trips fast and easy.
Navan is extremely simple to use! I really appreciate the ability to follow my transactions, and receive notifications of stats updates.
New claims are very simple, and quick to approve, but I'm not sure why re-opening, or adjusting claims is such a lengthy process. However, the features to perform this action are very user friendly, so I imagine it's just an adminstrative process that takes time.
Trust! Previous organizations and systems made the bureacracy and red-tape to be reimbursed so forward facing to the user that it would take forever, and make it laborious to the point where I would just 'eat' smaller reimbursements because I didn't want to deal with it. I trust Navan's simple steps to efficiently and effectively submit expenses and book travel.
It has been one of the best if not the best business travel app I used given how easy it is to navigate desired itineraries as well as the ease of submitting expenses. The rewards I get in doing those with a hassle free system is just cherry on top. Their customer service team via chat is also great amd always ensure that I get the best support that I need especially during unforeseen circumstances.
At this point, I don't think I have any complaints given that I have already used it a lot of times and not once did I get any sort of inconvenience. I would probably say that having a phone number to call especially during travel emergencies is going to be a great addition to the features.
Booking and expensing travel in one single platform. I also believe that Navan has the best rates and travel options compared to the current market such as Expedia etc.

Honestly, I love the silly little jokes as the picture is being scanned. Just because you got to wait a few moments while it does its thing doesn't mean you cannot have fun with it.
I haven't had any issues so far to be honest. The one thing that could be quicker, they give you a free joke or two so no complaints.
Navan makes uploading your expenses a breeze. I like how it can (usually) scan and pick out the correct amounts, store names, etc. even with a receipt that is hard to read (crumpled, printer almost out of ink, etc).
