ProWritingAid integrates to Scrivener, Word and Google Docs on Windows 11, plus many other applications and all the main browsers. Here's ten reasons why I bought the one-off lifetime license;
- Real-time grammar/spelling checker: Of course, instant error fixes as you type, anywhere!
- for pro writers there's 25+ writing reports: Scores for clichés, pacing, readability, and variety.
- AI Rephrase tool: Rewrites for clarity, tone, or brevity with one click
- Overused words checker: Spots repetition and filler words like "very."
- Style improvements: Fixes passive voice and sticky sentences
- Word Explorer/Thesaurus: Contextual synonyms with examples, for when the brain freezes
- Pacing & dialogue tags: Balances narrative rhythm and tags

It's pretty good

It's pretty good. Even the free version. One small problem is that it can't differentiate between a character talking and normal exposition.

Since talking sentence structures are different from normal text.

Over my shoulder editing

This catches errors in spelling and grammar as I make them, and I love that I get the option to ignore the suggestion if I want. The chapter critiques challenge me to think differently about what I'm trying to convey, and most often I am pleased with the changes I am encouraged to make.
