Pointcarre Dobby is a professional weaving software for creating and simulating any kind of dobby cloth, from the first design to on-loom production. Built on 40 years of weaving expertise, it runs natively on both Mac and PC in a single application, so creative studios and production floors share the same software and files. Color stays consistent throughout the whole process. Define colorways for warp and weft, edit the blanket weave, and reference your yarn colors using the Pantone Textile Library, Archroma Color Atlas and ColorCSI, all included free where competitors charge extra. The warp layout is drawn directly on the cloth or entered as a formula, making it quick to create plaids, stripes and double weave fabrics at the right density. The module includes a 4,000-weave library you can enrich with your own structures, automatic weave analysis that finds the minimal number of shafts, float viewing and correction, and various densities on the same fabric. Simulation quality sets Pointcarre apart: create realistic woven simulations with any yarn, including bouclé, chenille, slub and twisted. Through YarnMaker, Pointcarre builds true 3D yarns that reproduce how each yarn behaves and reflects light, so you validate a fabric on screen instead of on a costly physical sample.
