A perfect and beautiful online photo browser that could be self hosted
What do you like best about Lychee?
I installed Lychee on my Raspberry Pi (old model B) and the result is amazing !
What do you dislike about Lychee?
Recommendations to others considering Lychee?
The install was really easy with Nginx and performances excellent. You can then create your own server or host to not share your picture with already existing Cloud companies.

Very good photo management tool with great speed
What do you like best about Lychee?
The performance of the photoviewing. Even though its a browser based tool, showing images is near native speed, as long as you have a good connection to the server its hosted on.
What do you dislike about Lychee?
Furthermore I like that the interface has a dark tone, this is both great for not burning your eyes out, as well as bringing attention to the images, which is most likely what you want.
Recommendations to others considering Lychee?
Its also extremely simple to install, and has very few dependencies, none of which can't be installed through the ordinary package repos.
What problems is Lychee solving and how is that benefiting you?
The sharability. Currently this application is a strictly single-user tool, with some options to share photos, but no options for guest accounts.

Great software and easy workflow
What do you like best about Lychee?
Simple to use, open source digital asset management application. I enjoy being able to set it and forget it OR go into the code and tinker with the logic of the application.
What do you dislike about Lychee?
The only bad thing as of right now is that there is not remote image storage support or multi-user support which would make it a perfect platform.

Great Photo Management Product!
What do you like best about Lychee?
Lychee is a free photo-management tool, which runs on your server or web-space. That's usually the best option, as hosting your images in a remote service leaves you at the expense of the owner of that service. Lychee fills that gap in the market beautifully, using a snappy and beautiful interface and very little resources. I find really interesting the concept of "smart albums", that organize your pictures in special albums (apart from your regular albums) depending on specific criteria, like the amount the stars received.
What do you dislike about Lychee?
Recommendations to others considering Lychee?
There's another really good thing about Lychee, and that's how easy it is to install it. It uses PHP, so you don't need a high-end server to run it, so that's great.
What problems is Lychee solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lychee's elegancy and simplicity is also its weaker point. It lacks a user management system, it would be great to be able to share albums with other people. Also, the development process and release cycles seem a little bit slow.

User Friendly, easy to navigate
What do you like best about Lychee?
Lychee is fairly easy to use. Uploading images and sharing images had never been easier! The self housing platform is the cherry on top!
What do you dislike about Lychee?
Learning how to install and what all of the technical terms that the software uses is a bit tedious but those are the only downfalls.
What problems is Lychee solving and how is that benefiting you?
The program mages all of you photos way to see and organize in one spot. Makes navigating through photos much simpler.

Manage your photos easily!
What do you like best about Lychee?
I love how easy they make it to search your photos. This helps tremendously with organization and for people that have a large amount of photos. One thing that most other photo applications do not have is not only the ability to share photos, but to password protect them if you choose to do so. I have never felt more in control of all of my photos!
What do you dislike about Lychee?
I do wish that it had the ability to integrate seamlessly with other applications and also with browsers like Chrome. I'd love to see integration with Gmail and Chrome.
What problems is Lychee solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to keep track of everything in once place, instead of over a dozen different applicatons!

What problems is Lychee solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lychee's elegancy and simplicity is also its weaker point. It lacks (as far as I know) a user management system, it would be great to be able to share albums with other people. Also, the development process and release cycles seem a little bit slow. According to the official github, the next release is to be expected soon enough, the last being from January 2016.

An easy to use opensource photo management tool
What do you like best about Lychee?
Its easy to setup and you can easily make modifications. The code base is not complex and you are only limited by your creativity.
What do you dislike about Lychee?
There should be lazy loading of pictures. Sometimes the browser freezes when you try to load or upload lots of photos.
