Leanplum is a cross-channel CRM tool for personalized communication. Very flexible segmentation and A/B testing.
My favorite part is the A/B test reporting, where you can apply statistics, slice + dice results, and evaluate across hundreds of metrics retroactively.
Our previous tool had limited reporting, triggering was hard, segmentation required a lot of effort, and there was no email out of the box.
They're not very good at getting their message out, and the price was a little bit much for us at first, so me and my team wasted a lot of time on other tools.

We’d like to see a calendar view of our LiveOps activity across both config changes and messaging, but I know they are already working on it.
Prior to Leanplum, we lacked operational efficiency with new content requiring a new client release (several days). With Leanplum, we’re able to easily release, segment, and test new live events. Leanplum gives power to the product team to manipulate the game as they wish. You can communicate and change your player experience at the drop of a hat in an easy-to-use customer experience.
Leanplum right now needs to work on its response time. Segmentation can take an additional launch of the game to become active, which presents a problem when trying for something that must be instant. The UI/UX for the campaigns must also be improved.
I'm solving the problem of requiring a build to update my game. I push out content and limited time events via a series of adjustable variables from the server, on top of AB testing to find the best scenarios and messaging to inform my players of changes.
The ability to create custom messages with incredible flexibility and target them to customer behavior. Our business partners are lining up to have campaigns for their products within the app since we have rolled it out. We have run a number of awareness campaigns to help with Voice of the Customer concerns for mobile deposit as well as targeted messages informing customers who use specific products about how to avoid problems with their accounts.
It is a little awkward to figure out how to target a test device. Setting up rules takes a bit of work to know that you are targeting the correct group. It is a little difficult to work with nested campaigns.

Custom graphic options not 100% responsive. Campaign builder was introduced a bit too early and has not been quite helpful yet. The reporting dashboard could also be improved.
Leanplum has been a great support for our communications as it doesn't require any client release. Also, mobile campaigns, namely push and in-app messages, are easy to set up, monitor and replicate.
LeanPlum allows us to segment our customers and reach them with multichannel messages based on their user attributes and in-app actions.
