Google Cloud DLP is a cloud data loss and prevention software specially designed to help users identify, categorize, and protect their most sensitive data. More than 120 pre-built info types are available within the platform, facilitating seamless scanning and classification of important data in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Datastore. Users also get access to streaming content API enabling support for additional custom workloads, data sources, and applications. The software comes loaded with a variety of tools capable of executing tasks like masking, classifying, tokenizing, and transformation of critical elements, to manage the collected data for analytics. Both structured and unstructured data is supported by the solution, empowering users to maintain utility besides giving protection to the raw and sensitive identifiers. There are Quasi-identifiers, identifying combinations or elements of data that can be linked to a very small group or a single person. Lastly, Google Cloud DLP helps users measure statistical properties like l-diversity and k-anonymity, facilitating enhanced understanding and data privacy protection.
