Genius allows us to fully customize our product BOMs by using the Engineering Lifecycle features. We can customize in Genius from preloaded parts or upload them from a CAD2BOM interface. Time and effort have been reduced and keying errors virtually eliminated.
We also like the feature tied to the engineering lifecycle that allows us to load preliminary parts to purchasing which the design team knows will be long lead. Previously we would have to track long lead parts outside of the BOM and wait for the BOM to be fully loaded to show the parts bought for the job.
We are using the integrated genius accounting package. It is not as user friendly as what we used in the past (QB), but it give us the opportunity to fully link our costs to the product/job, something not possible in QB.
We have eliminated the need for many separate spreadsheets and various individual planning tools. Now at a glance, the production team can see what is coming down the pipe as well as what stage each job on the floor is at. Reduction in redundancy has helped free up time for other tasks.
Having one unified system that is capable of so much has been a huge benefit to us.

The system didn't meld well with our current processes and resources. We have spent a lot more time than anticipated customizing and getting creative with the system.
The system helps promote good documentation. Are old systems were very messy and Genius helps us keep up with good house keeping. We have seen improvements in tracking open sales orders and following up on outstanding invoices. Information is easy to get to and understand. This system really helped us improve our parts warehouse. We were able to cut back how much unnecessary inventory was stored and inventory accuracy increased dramatically.
Being in custom manufacturing, I really enjoy the ease of WIP, labor and cost tracking in Genius. We have been using it for a few years now and cannot imagine going back to other softwares. The ability to accurately track labor, material and time is paramount for us to quote future projects. Genius make this process very easy, we can look at predecessors and use that for quoting future projects.
Like all softwares we have used I wish there were buttons I could move, and screens I could consolidate.
They have a very through implementation process, and will help you get the most out of the software. They are also very quick to respond to support requests, and seem very interested in improving future versions to make the software better for you.

I enjoy the ability to easily customize reports and import/export functions in each module. The work flow and task automation have greatly increased the function of our business.
Not having the ability to reverse, edit or undo confirmed tasks makes correcting things difficult.
The ability for anyone to print and view fabrication/assembly plans for every part in Genius has saved a ton of time as we used to have engineering spend half a day printing plans now Geniuses batch printing allows anyone with access to print drawings in ten minutes. We have also increased our scheduling and inventory management significantly.
I like the userfriendly interface that support a powerfull planification and MRP system. We saw a big increase in material consumption control.
The only down side is there are very few customisation that can be done in the system. There is a helpfull tool called GTA (Genius task automation) that palliate this but it does not show in user interface.
I would highly recommend Genius for any manufacturing facility. their support during integration is way beyond what we expected.

Very complete solution for manufacturing business. Can fit other type of business as well since since it can be customized according to the type of business.
Nothing to dislike, but like any other ERP, you need to put a lot of effort to keep it clean. No more round corners. As they say, garbage in, garbage out. Forces us to be more rigourous.
Inventory and accurate job costs are the main gains we had. planning and purchasing is now much easier. We can now do much more with the same staff.

Highly recommend the software and support
Genius has dramatically decreased the time it takes for us to estimate, quote and produce projects. As well we have live views of project costs and a client history. We are more efficient in the production process and manage the data electronically from a single platform.
ETM feature is great for importing parts numbers and BOM's from SolidWorks.
Sometimes any Genius program you're in will crash from time to time.
