What do you like best about FortiGate IPS?

The number of features in the Fortigate is excellent. The interface is also intuitive.

What do you dislike about FortiGate IPS?

Sometimes they pull features out of the GUI. Like in version 6.2.x they removed the DLP interface from the GUI.

Recommendations to others considering FortiGate IPS?

Great value and excellent device. The security updates for the UTM functions are also very good.

What problems is FortiGate IPS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Perimeter and internal segmentation, UTM functions in traffic that flows through. VPN.

The downside of Fortigate are challenges associated with firewall going in the conserve mode. Also have noticed that sometimes SD-WAN functionality does not function properly.

Recommendations to others considering FortiGate IPS?

It does not have a full-fledged signature database like other IPS solutions would have. However, the signature database inbuilt on the Firewall is quite comprehensive and is updated regularly. Overall it is a good choice if you wish to go for a hybrid solution capable of firewalling and IPS.

What problems is FortiGate IPS solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fortigate wasdeployed as an internal segmentation Firewall in our network, which routes inter-VLAN traffic along with required security policies. We also use it as an IPS solution to protect our servers from attackers in the internal network.

What do you like best about FortiGate IPS?

The solution is integrated with the fortinet firewall and easy to use and configure. The solution is also cost effective and provides a good ROI.

What do you dislike about FortiGate IPS?

The reports provided are nice and quire user friendly. The integration with the SIEM tools is seemless and something that can be beneficial in soc monitoring

The solution is best served inline and uses very little firewall resources ensuring optimum utilization of the solution

The signatures sometimes are autoupdated and block some application functionality that needs regular monitoring. The integration with outgoing internet traffic some times causes a problem.

FortiGate, a powerful Intrusion Prevention System with advanced UTM features

What do you like best about FortiGate IPS?

Signature database is really advanced and it runs smoothly. The false positive rate is almost zero. That's why I use it with confidence.

What do you dislike about FortiGate IPS?

The IPS module is useful in my opinion and it will definitely be better to develop and use it on a separate appliance.

What problems is FortiGate IPS solving and how is that benefiting you?

The IPS module is open as a module on the Internet Firewall we currently use. In the policies we open our applications to the internet, we always assign the IPS profile we make for ourselves.

FortiGate IPS the best IPS performance available in the market today. FortiGate IPS, following a different evolution path than traditional IPS, innovates in ways that other standalone IPS products do not.

Fortigate IPS is an Intrusion Prevention System solution that integrates with many third party solutions and is certified by independent organizations for which it does its job.

FortiGate IPS is easy deploy and management tool. This solution integrate with other solution and also use FortiGuard service for detect to suspicious activity.

What problems is FortiGate IPS solving and how is that benefiting you?

With FortiGate IPS, Wannacry, petya et al. automatically updated the signature of many threats before an attack occurred, preventing systems from being damaged. We also prevented encrypted layer 7 attacks by integrating our SSL Decryption / encryption solution with Virtualwire feature.
