It's impressive how easily you can describe your data products.

Verifying the code is quite challenging and not straightforward.

It addresses the issue I faced when people interested in purchasing my data product would repeatedly have to ask me how to request it and what the tables mean, among other things.

Collibra has improved a lot over the past few years. I really like it as a unified data intelligence platform that brings together Catalog, Governance, Lineage, Quality, and AI Governance. It’s very helpful for CDO teams to align Business and IT in a single platform and speak the same language.

The things I don’t like about Collibra are the pricing and the adoption challenges. The learning curve is steep —especially when it comes to using the platform, setting up hierarchies, and configuring lineage diagrams. Sometimes having too many flexible options becomes a headache for end users.

Develop a simple, one-stop solution. The new version is much more powerful than the previous one, though the reporting component still has room for improvement. I trust the CPO will continue to elevate Collibra to the next level. The platform is moving in the right direction, with stronger capabilities and a clearer vision. If Collibra continues to simplify the user experience while enhancing performance, it will drive even broader adoption across the organization.

Collibra has recently introduced major upgrades like workflow versioning, workspace organization, enhanced lineage for platforms like Databricks and Azure, and AI-powered features such as automated asset descriptions and rule generation. These updates improve data governance, quality, and transparency—making it easier for businesses to manage complex data ecosystems and responsibly scale AI initiatives.

Collibra could be easier to work with in some areas—setting up data ingestion and workflows can take more effort than expected, and mapping specs still feel pretty manual. It’d also help if tools like Edge were a bit more stable and the APIs more consistent, just to cut down on the back-and-forth for technical teams.

Data flow across the orgnisation has been a challenge and Collibra helps reveal this to a degree.

Creation of metadata repository which helps in data product creation which can be made ahoppable by using dataops methodology.

At times you have to use custom connectors to connect to collibra as it doesn't supports direct connection with some tools.

I find the Customer Support is responds in a very timely manner.

I find it is very easy to relate the core offerings of the platform to key business issues and propose Collibra as the tool that can solve these issues and thus generate value through cost savings.
