Bandwidth Can Save You Money

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bandwidth is used by the whole organization for number ordering, toll-free services, call routing, etc. We moved to Bandwidth in a decision for cost savings as being a CLEC can be very costly when considering interconnection charges, trunk charges, etc.

Pros and Cons

  • Help/support documents (Learning Lab).
  • Constant webinars provided for process improvement.
  • Included in development calls to better the system.
  • Order automation.
  • Competitive pricing and discounts.
Edit
  • LNP rejection assistance.
  • Ticket response times when billing is involved.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are looking to provide phone service without taking on the cost of becoming a CLEC, Bandwidth is a very excellent option. Or scenarios where you need to establish service quickly, using them is a must. They are always open to negotiating costs to you if the proof is there for a discount as well.

Bandwidth -- Top Shelf Service

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Bandwidth for the majority of our origination across the entire organization. We were a telecom network and they were an integral part of our business.
We found their network to be reliable, the porting department capable -- more capable than most -- and their troubleshooting to be top drawer when we did have an issue.

Pros and Cons

  • Their porting department does a good job of getting numbers ported. I would have to say that they did a better job with larger ports than with the smaller ones, but overall still did a good job.
  • We found their troubleshooting team VERY easy to work with and to report issues to. They didn't treat my folks as if they knew everything and the person calling knew nothing. They were good listeners, figured out the issues quickly, and responded to escalations in a timely manner.
  • Their network was very reliable, which we appreciated since they made up a good portion of what we used.
Edit
  • While their porting department does a wonderful job, it seems to be the department that feeds other departments. They promote many out of that department to take on more responsibility elsewhere in the company (which is a good thing). However, it leaves us to work with yet another porting person who we have to learn to work with.
  • I cannot really say much else that's negative about them. They do a good job, have an easy to use portal, and respond well when things aren't working.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bandwidth covers the majority of areas where we had customers. However, there are still some areas we would have like to see them cover for calls. They cover more areas than our other carriers, but they did surprise us from time to time by an inability to be able to deliver call transport.

Bandwidth.com Rocks

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bandwidth.com is a CLEC. My company resells their numbers and service for VoIP communication. The whole company utilizes Bandwidth.com, but I interface mainly with phone numbers including number porting. We are able to order and port numbers through BW and resell to our customers. They have contacts and communication with other CLEC and LEC carriers to be able to port amongst each other.

Pros and Cons

  • Bandwidth has great customer service. They are all friendly and super helpful.
  • They are innovative and constantly updating their APIs, UIs, and products they offer.
  • Their UI and API are user friendly and intuitive.
Edit
  • They are actively working on this, but they currently are not able to work with third party SMS providers to separate voice and SMS. There are many companies that offer an SMS product for dental, medical, etc. offices so our customers have increasing requests to use a third party.

Likelihood to Recommend

For telecommunications: porting, new numbers, SMS, toll-free, and voice.

Your best primary term/orig provider

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bandwidth provides our primary origination and termination for our wholesale customers. Their APIs allow us to seamlessly integrate all of Bandwidth's feature sets into our existing applications.

Pros and Cons

  • Customer Support -- Their team is very knowledgeable and they answer the phone when you call, which is a huge industry issue.
  • API (Service Integration) -- They have a very robust API with excellent documentation.
  • Rates -- Their rates are very competitive, and allow us to increase our margins as our customer base grows.
Edit
  • Their dashboard is lacking. We would love to see some additional graphing components, live traffic views, etc.
  • Their E911 infrastructure is still separate, making things a bit complex to provision endpoints and manage them.
  • SMS/MMS is a little behind competitors like Twilio, but still usable and very reliable.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bandwidth is great for wholesale origination and termination. With a decent commitment, you can get great rates, and their support is excellent. Recommended as a primary source of service for voice traffic.

Great Great Great

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use them extensively for call origination, termination, e911, Dynamic 911, SMS (SMPP), and CNAM lookup. We use them as a provider that handles all of these things for our customers. They provide a reliable service that we are able to leverage.

Pros and Cons

  • Tremendous support.
  • Reliable product.
  • Great tooling/dashboard.
  • Pricing is great.
Edit
  • 24/7 support is lacking.
  • They prefer working over email.
  • Not always very transparent.

Likelihood to Recommend

When needing a wholesale product, and a reasonable price, they are very good. I might not recommend them if a guaranteed termination product was required.

"Overall reliable service and great support"

What do you like best?

Very reliable service, support is fast to respond and generally quick at fixing things.

What do you dislike?

Nothing really - everything is good overall

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were looking for a reliable partner for US DIDs, voice termination and SMS. We started working with Bandwidth about four years ago and have never felt the need to look elsewhere.

"My Experience Using Bandwidth for Automating Porting"

What do you like best?

I like being able to make corrections to port orders and having instant feedback (for most carriers in most cases. The automated notifications make it easy to know what the status is in real time. This is probably the most streamlined/user friendly porting portal I have used. I also like the advanced search features when ordering new numbers for customers. I like being able to now order CSRs just by making notes in the porting order.

What do you dislike?

I wish we could look at more than 500 DIDs for a customer. We look for certain kinds of numbers that would make for good BTNs and sometimes these numbers seem cherry picked on the first 500 results. It would be nice to be able to see the next 500 DIDs if possible. I wish porting dashboard showed a little more detail at a glance. It would be nice if there were more Porting tracking features explicit for LNP personnel to use. Automatic reminders for when an order hasnt been touched in awhile. Porting statistic breakdowns. I'd like my porting order statistics to be separate from other order types. If I am tracking porting, Id prefer not to have New DID orders lumped in when searching for orders.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend Bandwidth as a solution for any small to medium telecommunications enterprise. I do not see us using any other platform anytime in the near future. Bandwidth tends to listen to its users and we appreciate that. Its probably the level of support you get when problems arise that is most beneficial. I have no complaints, as Bandwidth seems to be making constant improvements all the time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Writing emails takes up too much time. Having Bandwidths automated porting system reduces lengthy emails and keeps me from having to wait on hold on the phone. The customer is probably the most important part. I know that when I put in a trouble ticket for an issue, it will be worked on regardless of if I am in the office or not. Bandwidths ability to work with the losing carrier to solve porting related issues with the losing carrier has proven invaluable.

"Recommended"

What do you like best?

Simplicity, transparency and quick support, our relationship with Bandwidth goes back to 2005, when our business has just started, since then we were building a company that has an outstanding customer support around the globe and mainly in US thanks to, Bandwidth solutions!

What do you dislike?

There is nothing to dislike about Bandwidth, everything is top notch. We have been using their services for a long time and never we had any issues with them.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you want to choose a right direction in setting your business, choose Bandwidth they truly help out with solutions

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Availability of US numbers, guidance, business development to ways we would never imagine back in 2005.

"My experience with Bandwidth"

What do you like best?

The helpfulness of support team when I'm porting numbers in.

What do you dislike?

I've had issues while porting numbers, where the number does not get activated until almost 1 hour of the scheduled activation time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Porting numbers for our customers that have phone numbers witht other companies and are migrating to us. The Bandwidth interface is top notch, and the support staff is really good helping out when issues arise.

"Bandwidth Porting Dashboard and Support Review"

What do you like best?

When I call in the employees are very friendly and always do their best to help.

What do you dislike?

We recently had a problem when supplementing a port, the request date would change to first available instead of the date we requested. This caused our customer's to have some outages and made us have to scramble to "snap back" the numbers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Support Team is very helpful and the Dashboard Tool is very easy to use.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Bandwidth often assists us in obtaining CSR's for customer's when we are unable to get them. They also make ports go very well.
