Absorb has helped us keep track of all of our employee training and professional development. It has also been a helpful tool for having people sign up for instructor-led sessions. In my opinion, the best part of Absorb is the customer service. I am not a techy person, so I was so grateful to have the support of the Absorb team during implementation as well as now as random questions come up.
I haven't really experienced many downsides. If there is somethign I need the system to do that is doen's have the functionality, I speak to my customer support person (which by the way, is the same person all the time), and we can usually figure out a reasonable work-around /solution.

Absorb is easy to administer and allows for full customization of the interface for users. I've always found it simple to navigate, create or edit existing content, generate filtered reports, and have only ever received positive feedback from the users' perspective as well. I also found Absorb to completely suit our needs for hosting media content, image and presentation files, and allowed us to maintain our Articulate-authored exams.
Absorb quizzes are great for knowledge checks, but I still found the need to use Articulate for more robust exam creation and reporting ability and so I hope Absorb only continues to expand their built-in assessments.

Absorb has provided both efficiency and accessibility for self-paced learning needs for not only our clients but internal employees as well. Having our learning content exist in a easy-to-use platform has saved time, energy, and resources that we would not have had we decided to stick with only virtual training classes. Having this LMS has also inspired additional programs to be created extending our outreach to additional audiences such as sales teams and university/college students.

I would like to see more resources available for continuing education, as well as an option to have courses associated with different categories, so our learners have multiple paths that lead to the same destination.

Moving resources could be easier but that's about it. Most functions are drag and drop or a nice interface.
We run e-Learning for hundreds of users on a revolving basis and have resources, videos, and more available for users. We use this as a Knowledge Base, e-Learning platform, onboarding, and more.
With Covid and work-from-home, we utilized some of the Absorb training that they made available for our employees.

When I first started sourcing LMS's, I asked Absorb why they didn't have performance or succession modules. Their reply was 'no one's built the perfect learning platform yet, so we're going to keep working on that.' I loved that response.
Out of the box, it does exactly what an admin needs it to do. It's easy to run reports on your own data an users, and you can host any kind of content. Simple to train other admins, and my entire end-user onboarding tutorial was under a minute long.
They make monthly updates and let you know ahead of time what's coming, and detail what they did. Your absorb platform literally gets better every month.
The help desk team is very friendly and based in Canada, and they respond to and fix issues really quickly.
We've had a few requests for 'custom pages' that would be nice to see added to the system. Like, a homepage to market specific programs. We've found workarounds, but a native solution would be great.
Mobility and content management. It's really easy to see what's in your system, and the HTML5 comparability makes mobile access really user friendly.
This platform takes the CAR's CPD offerings to the next level and improves the overall learning experience for our members and the radiology community at large. Centralizing information, resources and our eLearning activities as well as effective knowledge management translates to the dissemination, distribution, and curation of knowledge throughout the radiology community. The user-friendly (and customization) platform engages our users, supports the development of innovative and interactive content and facilitates compliance with accreditation requirements. While attending my own professional development, I'm constantly boasting the features of our LMS and the excellent support I receive from the Absorb team. A key feature of the LMS is the portal dedicated to our radiologists-in-training. RAD Academy provides a national platform for the medical student network and their radiology interest groups. It is the premier location for research projects, modules and resources in Canadian radiology, which are currently happening in tandem across the country.
While most of the dashboard can be customized for the user (learner), I would like to see expanded features which allow for the customization of the admin dashboard, to display data and key reporting highlights. More information should be readily available for admins, rather than having to constantly create "reports".
The CAR's LMS, RAD Academy, is an essential tool in ensuring that we meet the educational needs of our members as well as other practicing radiologists across the country. It has strengthened the development and assessment of our educational offerings and provides the CAR's education department with improved ways to deliver content, monitor physician participation and assess their performance, competencies and skills.
I like the fact that I can fully manage my system without needing IT’s intervention or Absorb support.
