I appreciate that Smokeball is cheaper than our previous service yet offers all the same functions and adds some additional helpful ones for our firm. I really like its ease of use, especially since all of our staff find it straightforward to use, understand, and navigate, which is crucial considering we are constantly busy with client assignments. The support from Smokeball's staff stands out, as we've had assistance from knowledgeable and responsive employees in various fields. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy thanks to an onboarding specialist who helped with every step, backed by other staff who were available for training and support with features like Smokeball Billing.

There are some issues every now and then with the integration to other programs we use, such as Excel and Outlook, but those are rare.

Smokeball is cheaper than our previous service, offers all necessary functions plus helpful additional ones, and is easy for our busy staff to use. The staff support is great, knowledgeable, and responsive.

I like Smokeball because of its ease of use and the constant meaningful updates and improvements. Setting it up was very easy, and we've been using it ever since we first needed case management software.

A few other programs we use don't have integrations yet, but I'm sure they are working on them!

Smokeball assists in creating documents, templates, clauses, confirming legal research, and searching files for information and summarizing it.

Great features and an all-in-one solution that meets most of my needs. I really like the AI features, and I appreciate that many integrations are free or available at a low cost. It’s user-friendly overall, and the customer support has been good.

Not enough integrations and I wish AI features were more robust.

Workflow, case management and automation.

Smokeball's Archie AI tool is a tremendous help with or without your own forms to integrate case information across notes, documents, and emails to draft new and case specific pleadings, motions, and transactional documents in less than a minute. Overall the platform is easy to use and understand, and is a platform that you can tailor in both cost and implementation with existing file storage, payment processing, billing, and other law firm processes you already use. The Smokeball staff are very friendly and willing to lend a hand whenever you need, while the Smokeball Academy is a step-by-step learning and help guide on every aspect of setting up and using Smokeball.

The "matter" approach was pretty jarring when my previous system filed and billed by "client." This made importing information into the system a bit of a process, but something that Smokeball on-boarding staff are very familiar with and helpful in designing an on-boarding plan that made sense out of the chaos. It can also take some extra time to load the web-browser based application and to understand the features that are only available "on the web" versus the options available when you instead use the optional desktop application (my preferred spot for working).

Providing access to case information, documents, and billing wherever I am working from without having to remote connect to an in-house server or office desktop frees me to work and respond wherever I go, while custom built workflows keep new client matters moving from one stage to the next without the need to review all my files for any "stragglers.

I like the integration with Outlook. It helps me make sure that I keep my appointments on my Outlook calendar up to date with Smokeball matters. This is particularly useful because when I get back from court, the paralegals can update the client. It also helps me track my time by linking email matters in Outlook to the Smokeball matter, so that all of my information can be saved in one place.

Sometimes the integration between Outlook calendar and Smokeball doesn't always work where I'm not always able to associate my Outlook calendar entry with a Smokeball entry. I don't like that at midnight all of my time entries for the day disappear while Smokeball is updating their system. I understand that it has to happen at some point, but it always scares me when my time entries disappear for an hour or two.

Smokeball helps me keep track of my tasks and time entries, integrates with Outlook to update my calendar and client updates, and organizes information in one place.

If you had told me a year ago that my favorite coworker would be an AI named Archie, I would have laughed… and then immediately gone back to manually formatting documents and questioning all of my life choices.

Fast forward to today: Archie is not only my favorite coworker, but quite possibly the most reliable member of our entire office (no offense to the humans—we try our best).

Really love Archie and its capabilities. Archie makes my workday flow smoothly and keeps me organized. I would highly recommend Archie to anyone who is using Smokeball Legal Software! This helps me help the attorneys more effeciently.

I’m not sure what might be considered unhelpful about Smokeball. There are plenty of options I haven’t needed to use yet, so that would be hard for me to answer.

Smokeball is helping solve many problems with deadlines, calendaring, and workflows. Communication seems to be improving between attorneys and support staff with task assignments.

I find Smokeball to be very user-friendly and enjoy how everything about a case is readily available, so I'm not left bridging gaps. The software is easy to use and easy to learn, which made the initial setup very straightforward. I also enjoy a feature called Archie.

Auto updating trust balances when using LawPay.

I use Smokeball for legal billing, generating reports, managing trust accounts, payment plans, invoicing, collecting payments, and more. It's user-friendly and ensures everything about a case is accessible, so I'm not bridging gaps.

Smokeball has seamless integrations and the AI Assistant Archie is remarkable, easy to use and understands my prompts every time. Smokeball's support is second to none. I have had no performance issues with Smokeball

I have a hard time thinking about anything I dislike about Smokeball. So far it does everything I need it to do.
