Keeps all college recommendation requests in one neat, organized format.

Occasionally, the program will not send you an email notification showing that a student has requested a letter of recommendation.

I have been able to save time by keeping all student recommendations digital and being able to complete the process over different periods of time while the program saves my progress.

The whole system is very straightforward to utilize, and support is always on top of whatever we need. It is extremely rare that we don't have a resolution within a few days (for complex issues) if it isn't solved within the same day.

We had some growing pains in trying to implement a way to create/link parent accounts to their student accounts automatically. However, it is my understanding that with the recent acquisition by PowerSchool, this process will now be streamlined, and parents will be able to access Naviance directly from their PowerSchool Parent Portal in an upcoming release. Additionally, over time the overnight automated sync process with PowerSchool has left a bit to be desired and we had to frequently tweak the parameters of our exported file in order to ensure that we had all of the data that we were expecting.

Within the past few years, Naviance changed their password requirements and as a result we were no longer able to utilize our student PowerSchool login information as the passwords were shorter than the new minimum required length that was implemented. However, in configuring a Google single sign-on instead all of those problems went away as students can now just use their district Google credentials to log with the convenient one-click method as long as they are actively logged into their Google account.

The ability to insert, track, and make decisions off of student data.

Like any program, it takes a bit of time to learn the ins and outs. This isn't specific to Naviance - it just is what it is.

We want to help students achieve their goals by organizing data relative to college and career.

I love being able to submit documents to colleges and having an electronic record of the submission.

I don’t like the email component, it is not user friendly.

I like the vast array of tools available to capture data and the ability to manage so many facets of the college application process through one streamlined portal. Their customer service as well is some of the speediest I have experienced.

Naviance has a tendency to break down on important application deadlines, and the interface of Naviance with the Common App regarding teacher recommendations is at times cumbersome.

One stop shop for all my college application process needs. Has allow me to better streamline the process, have access to real time and concrete data that can be used to direct important high level changes in the overall project management of college applications.

I like the ease of uploading my letters of recommendation and of being able to read what students say about themselves.

I can't think of anything that I dislike.

Easy to track my students goals.

Naviance is a user friendly program that allows students to work with educators in order to make their post-secondary transition as seamless as possible. Naviance has the availability for all of the students information regarding testing, college requests, and their high school information to all in be in program. This program can be viewed at school and at home.

Some students have a difficult time linking information, as they also use the College Board site frequently. Using multiple platforms can be challenging for some students, and information is therefore left out.

Students take various assessments within Naviance throughout high school. They are able to narrow down their interests and personality traits in order to find applicable careers. This helps students to think of career paths and therefore post-secondary education.

Naviance allows students to document aspects of their student success plans in one place . They use Naviance to write annual academic, career, and social/personal goals , explore career paths through unique career cluster and key inventories, and have a great college exploration tool . You can easily survey students and assign tasks to document what has been completed.

If settings are not correct, information can be lost from year to year or when transferring school levels. Student passwords often need to be reset.
