While Kreo undoubtedly boasts numerous advantages, it's worth acknowledging one of its few limitations, particularly when dealing with extensive projects such as housing developments with lots and lots of plans. The minor drawback I've encountered is the potential for a bit of tedium when navigating between multiple drawings. Occasionally, this can disrupt the flow of work and lead to momentary lapses in concentration. However, it's important to note that this inconvenience is far outweighed by the overall efficiency and accuracy Kreo brings to the table, making it a valuable asset in my professional toolkit.

Working remotely while needing access to project drawings could have been a logistical and financial challenge if I were to follow the traditional route of printing. This would have presented two potential hurdles:

(a) The cost associated with utilising a local printer for regular printouts could have added up significantly over time.

(b) Alternatively, I might have needed to make a substantial upfront investment in purchasing a plotter for my personal use, which can be quite expensive.

Fortunately, Kreo has proven to be a game-changer in this regard. It has completely eliminated these concerns and has allowed me to work seamlessly from a remote location. With Kreo, I can access and measure drawings with precision without the need for physical prints, saving both time and money. This invaluable feature has not only streamlined my workflow but has also made remote work not just feasible but highly efficient.

the cut out tool and easy fast measurement tools available making takeoffs super easy and making my job a lot easier, this means i can send my jobs in in a much quicker time and complete more jobs in a short period of time.

the fact kreo is cloud based makes it difficult during days in which the wifi may be down or in which we may have any issues with technology although the actual working software is great.

Kreo 2D takeoff is a cloud tool, working with any internet browser,which facilitates collaboration. Different file formats can be imported such as PDF or DWG. An advantage compared to some other tools is that the quality of imported PDFS is not downgraded.

There is also a black and white mode which helps to see measurements drawn on colored drawings. We can choose colors and thickness of the measurements we draw and when zooming out, these measurements become bigger and are easy to see.

It is possible 2 overlay drawings to highlight their differences.

We can sort measurements in flexible ways, creating folders, sub-folders and using drag and drop to move measurements from one folder to another.

A rare feature for such tools is that there is an Excel-like table. It is possible to connect measurements with live links to this table and easily create bills of quantities.

There is also a powerful system of assemblies. We can apply properties to any measurements, like thickness, height... to automatically calculate concrete volume for example. Then reports can be created. They work like pivot tables in Excel, which means that we can sort quantities according to any parameters, like levels, height, thickness...

Finally there are promising features of automation. We have the autocount, which is already working well and can detect texts or shapes automatically and count them. And there is an auto measure tool that is constantly improving and detects lines and can draw rooms, walls... automatically.

It can be long to display heavy PDF files.

Invest in Kreo because it's the most promising tool.

A challenge when making a 2D quantity takeoff is to convert simple measurements like lengths, counts, to a bill of quantity containing volumes, surface areas...

Kreo 2D takeoff with its assemblies and excel-like spreadsheets makes that process much faster and safer without the need to reorganize data afterwards.

I have been doing estimating work for 10 years. Many take-off softwares' use old UI's (user interface) that often complicate the simple task of scaling a drawing and finding quantities on those drawings. Kreo's modern UI has simplified the process for a competitive price point. There is a lot of potential here to be the go-to take-off software in the industry. With little training, one can dive into basic take-offs quickly and expand knowledge over time, instead of spending a lot of time learning functions that may or may not be useful. Simply upload the project file, scale and start. Digitized items can easily be categorized within a custom file system which can be built at anytime, instead of needing to set up everything before you start. A simple drag and drop feature allows you to move digitized items into different categories (files) and automatically take on the properties of that category. Those categories are then carried throughout the project, alleviating the need to recreate the same properties on a new page.

The display of digitized quantities could be better. Currently the only way to see a total amount combined is to move the take off folder to the built in excel sheet that also works as the report feature (which is very handy). Would like to see immediate displays of quantities as they accumulate.

I find it difficult to transfer data straight from Kreo to an Excel file.

I was having issues with not being able to resume a manual count after finishing however, Kreo have implemented a feature that now allows this which has been very beneficial to me,

The price. For a start-up company, the price is essential, and Kreo provides an excellent service for a reasonable cost.

There is quite a lot going on on the screen, so if you work on a laptop and need to see the scale on the drawing, there is a little bit of fiddling to do with the zoom controls. Not a big deal, but one that could be improved.

Very easy to use. You can learn by yourself but the Kreo team are great at helping you out.

Lifting off the plans helps me with time and doing things manually. The more I work with Kreo the easier it gets. Benefits by saving time.

The user interface and flexibility of the software in relating the measurement on the drawing to the measure in the folder and to the work sheet. The suite of physical measurement tools is impressive, and the AI that is being developed is exceptionally powerful

One of the positives is that the software is cloud-based but with this comes the downside of internet speed and connectivity issues particularly with larger and more complex files

We are solving the issue of the 80:20 time split. 80% of the time being usually spent on take-off and preparation of the estimate, with the key analysis and insight only being awarded 20% of the time. With the use of Kreo we are starting to flip this around. We are taking the time out of the quantification side of estimating and giving us more time to delve deeper into the analysis and insights piece of cost planning

The speed in which the take off can be carried out and the export to Excel feature

There could be a comment section to not the height of the various wall types we take off for speed of putting the bill of quantities together.

It helps to measure entire projects with ease and explain any discrepancies with the main contractors' measures by exporing to Excel files and exporting the drawings.
