I feel CCH ProSystem fx Tax is great for tax professionals as it is a professional tax preparation, compliance and workflow solution for public accounting firms and corporations of all sizes. We use this system every, day for our CPA firm. This is an easy system to use. Customer support is very helpful. The ease of implementation makes this software such a joy. The ease of intergration makes this program able to do almost everything for your accounting. I would recommend this product to everyone who has a CPA firm.

What is not to like. This program does all of the work for you.

This program helps us solve accounting errors and that benefits us as a CPA firm by giving us problem solving answers.

They make it easy to prepare a tax return

THe software is very easy to use and learn how to prepare tax returns with. It is very user-friendly, and their IT support is very helpful, especially for people who are new to their software. Their support is available, helpful, and patient.

There is nothing that I dislike about the product. It checks all the boxes of what I want and need from a tax software, in order to prepare quality work for my clients.

Prosystem FX Tax is a great tool that is easy to use and produces accurate and high-quality product. When you work in tax, accuracy is your main goal and this software enables you to prepare quality tax returns and know that the output is correct. I've used this software for years and would recommend based on it's user-friendly interface, its accuracy, and it's helpful IT support.

Nothing. I have used this software for years and have no complaints. It helps me do my job effectively, accurately, and efficiently and, out of all of the tax softwares I've used, I've found it to be my favorite.

We are able to prepare tax returns for our clients using this software. When I first started at the firm, it was an easy-to-use and easy to learn software that made learning my job much easier.

ProSystem Tax fx handles the most complicated returns, from those with 50 W-2s to taxpayers who live and work abroad, but must still file US returns, and where the foreign tax credit will eliminate all US taxes. The system is relatively intuitive, but there are many input forms, and getting from input to government and vice versa is a great tool. I have used many of the elite software packages, such as ProSeries and LaCerte, and none compare at all with ProSystem Tax fx.

ProSystem Tax fx is complicated in its design, and you have to get used to the input methods. That can take time. Once you are familiar with the data input methods, the system can produce virtually any return for any US taxpayer anywhere in the world. All bases are covered. The only negatives are the cost of the full package and tech support, which is very hard to get to.

Use the free trial. Have tech support convert your current files into PFX formatted files. Try it out. If you do not see an artistic difference from the software you are now using, cancel. I find it to be superior to all of the others out there.

We are a few multitier partnerships, and getting the partners distributive shares is very time consuming and headache creator. PFX does the work for us and the number are what they should be in the appropriate boxes on the K-1 forms. PFX helped us streamline the processes, and provided our client with the K-1s before the March 15 deadline.

I like the user interface and how it is pretty easy to use.

I dislike that there are a lot of delays when calculating the return.

Practice will help you familiarize yourself with all of the capabilities of the software. There are a lot of features and functions that CCH Prosystem fx has. If you get stuck on something, you can always contact customer service or use the reference button to see where the numbers are coming from. To clear e-file diagnostics, CCH Prosystem gives you in great detail on how to clear the diagnostics.

It allowed me to file returns seamlessly for current year as well as amended returns. It is pretty simple to use and the end result is pretty accurate.

Pro-Systems fx (PFX) is the most complete tax preparation software that I have ever used, and over a long career as a tax practitioner, I have use most everything out there, from "at home" programs to the more sophisticated programs from Intuit and Thomson-Reuters. PFX simply does it all. There are somethings I do not like, but generally, the programs do everything you can ask of a tax program. It is easy to following, easy to move from government forms to input forms, and easy to edit. The diagnostics are second to none, and none of the tedious repetition that I find in the Intuit products. I especially like the built in Canada and Australia tax treaty elements of the individual tax programs.

I am not happy with the automated transfer of data from K-1s to individual returns. The automated data flows only the the K-1 input forms, and not to the 1065/1120S/1041 input forms, which are far more detailed and comprehensive than the K-1 input forms. And the state if different data does not transfer at all. But these are minor compared to the vast breadth of the programs.

If you are using another premium software, and are thinking about a change, I strongly suggest you contact PFX sales and get a free trial. I think you will find PFX (and its sister programs that are in the cloud) to be most comprehensive software you have ever used. Throw you most complicated return at it. You will be pleased with the results.

The office has no problems with PFX that technical support has not been able to solve. For inexplainable reasons, PFX creates some shadow pages, and seemingly, only tech support can make them go away. But this is a minor issue that happens maybe once or twice per year. But PFX runs circles around most of the other software on the market, including Pro-Series, Lacerte, ProConnect, and UltraTax. This is particularly true, in our experience, for multi-tier partnerships and LLCs, such as real estate partnerships with different levels of ownership and law partnerships with many levels of partners and profit participations. We have used the others, leaving PFX in 2010 for a disastrous year with UltaTax.

You can change any options needed, up to and including interest rates for tax penalties etc

They were a little slow on their understanding and updates of the new tax bill.

It is great for experienced the tax return preparer, but might be overwhelming for newbies.

It is a solid tax preparation software with the adaptability to cover a multitude of situations.
