In the user guides, I would like to see more templates with detailed examples.

There are countless great things about Bright Data. Namely, the proxies are simple to use and integrate seamlessly into Python code. In addition, Bright Data provides extensive documentation for setting up and using each of their proxy offerings. The BrightAI chat is incredibly helpful with answering technical questions.

Everything is seamless and easy to use, leaving nothing to dislike.

Our research team has developed a tool that mimics end users to automate queries of ISP interfaces and extract advertised broadband availability, speed tiers, and pricing data at street-address granularity. To avoid originating all queries from a single non-residential IP address, we leverage a pool of IPs provided by Bright Initiative—the non-profit branch of Bright Data that supports academic and nonprofit projects with free access to data scraping tools. However, the initial version of this tool lacked robustness and extensibility: it frequently broke when ISPs updated their websites and required significant manual effort to integrate new ISPs.

Responsible provider, the team is highly knowledgeable, and customer support is direct and well organized

dashboard login procedure recently became tedious and repetitive (i.e. can't keep a long session), often asked for 2nd level confirmation, keep receiving emails about "new login", although I always log in from my main machine

They give you a bunch of solutions, countries and all kind of proxies you can choose from and configure your solution accordingly. Also, they have a good service that will help yo configure investigate and solve issues that you ran into

although they did gave me a good service eventually, it took them almost a day to answer my question and go live on zoom with me.

I truly appreciate the user-friendly interface and platform. It's incredibly easy to work with, and the team consistently introduces new features and innovations to meet evolving needs and enhance the user experience.

The customer service is excellent. The account managers are not only helpful and polite but are also committed to quickly and effectively solving any issues that arise. The datasets themselves are rich and fascinating, offering a great deal of value.

My main frustrations are with the platform's session management. The timeout period for a session is quite short, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, logging into the platform using a code doesn't always work smoothly or reliably.

I used one of their prepared datasets through their academic collaboration program (Bright Initiative).

It was easy to find the dataset in their catalog, understand its format, figure out how to query for the right cut of the data that I needed, and finally to download it.

Overall, it's an excellent way to obtain publicly available data, without having to worry about crawling, formatting, etc.

Nothing really major, but it's important to realize that it's better to download a larger dataset than several smaller ones, as the pricing isn't entirely linear.

We were able to parse some important news outlets that were otherwise not accessible We use BD in our thetruestory.

We've written many spiders, but after using BD for the past year on a few sites, we will choose them whenever it is possible to extract the data we need using their service.

We've run into a variety of issues over that year and they have all been addressed - most of them promptly. Enhancements to the extracted data or to the scope of data to be extracted have also been implemented. The service is at least as reliable as the spiders we've built ourselves and using BD is both faster and more cost efficient.

On my most recent problem reports, the fixes took about 9 days, which is a little longer than we'd like. In this case we were able to work around it with our customer, but if we could keep that down to a few days in the future, it would cause us less discomfort.

Bright Data provides APIs and infrastructure that simplify building modern webscrapers. They've already thought through proxys, CAPTCHAs, browser fingerprinting... all of the things that are time consuming and a major hassle to build and maintain yourself. Their team is wonderful to work with, super responsive, and helped us get our code adapted to their API in short order. In a matter of hours, we were able to deploy a dramatically improved workflow and data collection process, all without having to build and maintain dozens of different packages or plugins!

We have yet to encounter a downside to working with Bright Data. It has far surpassed our expectations. The only regret our team has is waiting so long to give their platform a try!

We rely on publicly available US government data to provide insights and analysis on immigration court for asylum seekers across the country. This data changes regularly and requires individual scrapes for each case we are tracking. Bright Data helps automate the scraping process by providing all of the needed infrastructure for modern web scraping in a single API.

Was working on the API for tiktok scrapper and was having some issues. Opened up a support ticket and within in about 2 hours was able to solve issue with the team. They were super professional and was extremly polite ( something lacking in tech support these days )
