With Aiven you can be sure to respect these points :
Fast
Secure
Scalable
I'm currently not very experienced enough to find bad points for aiven
We have created a database with a scalable & backup system in minutes !!
Easy management for our cloud services!!
Need more features for clearer filtering and searching in logs.
Great way to have centralised view of everything
Centralising our databases
Ability to rollback to exact second with ease
I have not found anything that I dislike
No need for DBA, backups are taken care for you automiatcally
The interface is intuitive. The support team is helpful although it takes a while to answer.
It is not PCI-DSS compliant which is a requirement for our business. To be able to use Aiven we will move some tables that have cardholder data to an infrastructure that we have.
To make the replicas in different cloud companies is an unnecessary complication and Aiven solves that for us.
That I can have both managed postgres, elastic and kafka all in one place
using terraform with aiven, it is easier through the GUI
That I can have both managed postgres, elastic and kafka all in one place
mainly having managed elastic
Aiven is easy to use and manage, which saves a lot of work when compared to self-hosting a database.
Up to now there seem to be no major downsides, the most difficult part of using Aiven (and it is not difficult) has been selecting the right region for the database server.
We do not want to manage our databases ourselves.
Monitoring, logging and tooling are way better than GCP
None actually, maybe a lack of option for mySQL version.
Better monitoring and logging just make debugging whole lot easier!
It's essentially the same quality and service that we were getting from our other providers (Heroku for postgres, InfluxCloud for our influx db), but for a better price. I needed to copy a postgres db from Heroku to Aiven, and was able to find some helpful documentation and complete the task easily.
As with any transition to a new service or provider, it's hard to manage the migration of our existing providers to Aiven.
We are looking to lower the cost of running our software by moving some of our databases to being hosted in Aiven. So far we have seen that Aiven offers a similar service to our current providers, but for less cost.
Aiven is what AWS should be. It's easy to find what you are looking for, the settings are where they should be and the structure is very logical.
Not much other than more features and customisability/settings without making it confusing like AWS.
Use it for as many services that you can to avoid splitting up your services across too many vendors.
We are using Kafka and Postgres to perform event streaming.

Nothing at the moment. Aiven is fantastic!
Aiven Platform simplifies data infrastructure management, saving time and resources.
Aiven have significantly enhanced the efficiency and reliability of my data infrastructure, allowing me to focus more on strategic tasks rather than operational hassles.
