A great tool to track the time you're spending on a specific project, with language tracking capabilities.

The dashboard's interface is not visually appealing.

I know how much time I am spending on each of the different projects I am working on.

I can have my goals and time spent coding in many computers vs code and I don't lose track of my improving

When you develop a software as a freelance by remote, usually the client want to know how much you worked on his project or on a specific file during debugging. WakaTime provide to you and your client all the info you need .

WakaTime provide integrations with different IDE, chat and VCS platforms to be able to share software commits with team members. All you need to do is create a WakaTime account and add the required plugin to your IDE.

It is like a fitness program for a developer like us. It will track all your coding detail and time so we can improve our self in that particular skill or problem. It shows tracking detail in awesome UI charts.

It doesn't track your detail in offline mode. They should work on that also.

If you want accurate details of each and every step in your project then this is absolutely the right choice for that. You can also improve yourself where your skill takes time.

We implement waketime plugin from 1st of the project start. So we can get easily data of which module takes more or less time. And individually also it is very helpful for improving ourselves.

I use WakaTime because it gives details about my coding time. I have plugin for Android studio. Wakatime uses awesome UI charts to gives time tracking on a working project. With use of this tool can improve and increase my productivity by focusing on the right project.

WakaTime has created a universal why of where, when, how development work happens with an intuitive way to visualise on an individual an team basis. Add in the leaderboards for some motivation and you've got yourself a great tool!

Would love to see some sort of mobile device tracking but no idea how that would/could work.

Definitely a most have for anyone interested habit tracking.

Provides the team the ability to see what others are in real time and provide insight to areas that could be streamlined.

As a developer, I like best the dashboard

As a developer, I like the dashboard best, which gives me data on how much coding I have done on various projects that I am working on.

As a developer it resolves the time I bill my customer for work I do for them, I can let them see how much time I spent and get paid accordingly.

It just "works"! Does its thing in the background and gives you real-time and meaningful analytics. Integrates nicely. NOTE: I have only been using this tool for a few weeks now and do not have significant usage to provide further useful feedback at this time.

As with all SaaS, you should test and compare at least 2-3 similar service providers. This will give you the insight you need to make an informed decision based on what is right for you. Take advantage of the trials, tutorials, and onboarding assistance. Be sure you are fully ready to commit before full implementation.

I like that WakaTime automatically tracks your time in your IDE, then categorizes it based on language. I can easily see how much time I'm spending on CSS / SASS vs JS as well as how much time I'm spending in each project, or even each IDE. Their dashboard shows you lots of beautiful graphs of stats related to languages, IDE, time and projects (connect to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket to track commits). Much more granular than a desktop time tracker and you can track your output against goals that you set. Want to code more HAML? You can do that. Want to spend less time in your IDE? You can track that too.

Their design is starting to look a little dated. The UX is still excellent, and the UI works correctly, but it just looks a little 2015. Which makes sense, since they started before then, but as a designer I always want to see things just a little more modern.

If you need to track your actual time coding as well as coding languages, there is no better addon / extension than WakaTime.

I'm able to much more accurately track how much time I spend actually coding, versus refactoring or writing user narratives. It's very nice to see how much I have - or haven't - been working on my JavaScript skills. Well, it's depressing, but good in a self-improvement way.
