Solid Takeoff is browser-based construction takeoff software for measuring PDF drawings online. Open a PDF plan set, or a photo or scan of a drawing, set the scale and measure lengths, areas and counts straight off the sheet, with nothing to install. You can set the scale from a ratio preset, by tracing a known dimension, or with AI scale detection. It reads a scale bar, a labelled dimension or the title-block ratio, and you confirm before it applies. Measurements are grouped into named conditions, each with its own colour and waste percentage, and totals update as you work. Give a linear run a height and a thickness and the same line also gives you wall area and volume. When you're finished, export an annotated vector PDF with a quantity summary, or a CSV for your estimate. Solid Takeoff runs on Mac, Windows, Chromebook and iPad, and the free plan has no time limit.
