Diffculties when CPSEMD process terminating randomly which can lead to login failure in the SmartEvent GUI and high CPU utilization.

SmartEvent Event Mangement solves our problem by minimizing the complisities of monitoring, analyzing and managing security event. And above all it's reporting features are out standing.

SmartEvent offers a nice and consolidated view of security events and helps to find potential risks and vulnerabilities across their network infrastructure. tracking feature is also great.

they can add more custom options. rest I find good.

SmartEvent Event Management tool is helping to detect potential threats in the network by detecting events. it is improving the overall security of the system. the reporting etc is easy in this tool.

Fewer options for customization are available. It would be best if more customizations could be done s per our organization and needs.

SmartEvent Event Management helps us to manage events from different devices on a single platform.

If you have a high number of devices, performance issues may occur.

By using SmartEvent Event Management, we can quickly troubleshoot problems without checking different devices.

Check Point Smart Event Management is very useful to set blade security settings and Alert, Notification etc.

there is no such dis-advantage of this blade.

We have configure alert, notification and security settings using GUI.

We are using Check Point R80.30 Smart Event Management and it is very easy to configure and manage. With Smart Event Management we have very good visibilities on each traffics.

The Smart Event Management has separate license. It should be in built with management server

We have multiple branch offices and we are using check point as perimater gateway each offices with all require blades and SmartEvent Management blade provide us threat visibilities as well as analysis and correlated to find the threats as well.

For the management server software version R80.10 and above, the configuration is performed from the unified Smart Console. After just a few clicks the blade is activated, with a bunch of the useful pre-defined rules, which led us to the second point:

2. A lot of the built-in, predefined event categories and types present after the blade activation. You don't have to be the SIEM expert to make use of the logs correlation. Check Point concentrated the are knowledge to the reusable rules available by default.

3. Great visibility and alerting capabilities. E.g. while using the Smart Console, you may see the live SmartEvent correlation events in parallel with the Firewall and VPN blade log events in the real time.

If you have a huge number of the security events/logs and are trying to find the correlation with the help of SmartEvent blade, it may impact the performance of your Check Point management server.

If you are running single device then it is very useful for incident Event management and resovling the issue.

We found some features are very helpful, one of it is the capability of real-time analysis of security events, with this we can detect and respond to threat quicker, either it's attack to server or attack on endpoint, and prevent it from causing bigger damage to the company. Another helpful feature is the ability to give us in-depth reporting. User can generate custom and detailed reports that is easy to understand, and use it according to the need, for example to help in the audit process or to comply with certain standard.

some areas that could be improved, one is to provide easy to access guide or manual, maybe videos about how to manage or use the software effectively and efficiently, maximizing it's features, showing best practices on using it, shortening the learning time for new user. It's already have intuitive user interface, but more advanced usage need more time to learn and optimize

another one maybe about cost, if checkpoint could provide cheaper license cost that will be great, or maybe provide bundling package with firewall subscription.

The checkpoint smartevent event manager have the purpose to provide us transparency, to give us information about what happened in the network. with this information, the administrator can see a lot of things, they can see hacking attempts from the internet that targeting our servers, with that information, they can check the security setting in the server, is it strong enough or not, and make sure the servers is safe. They also can see attack that directed to the endpoint, we know which endpoint got infected so we can take action to clean it. The software also have good reporting capability, we can create custom report according to our needs.
